4.00mm & 4.50mm crochet hooks

3 buttons

1 meter of ribbon (approx), 8 ribbon rosebuds


GAUGE - 7dc & 4 rows of dc measures approx 2” square

Start with Yoke (worked in one piece) Using 4.00mm hook and main color ch55, 1dc in

4th ch from hook, 1dc in each ch to end. Turn. (52dc + ch3)

 

2nd Row - (Increase) ch3. 1dc in next dc, * 2dc in next dc, 1dc in each of the next 4dc,

* rpt from * to * to end, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. (62dc + ch3)

 

3rd Row - ch3, 1dc in each dc to end, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn.  (62dc + ch3)


4th Row - (Increase) ch3, 1dc in next dc, * 2dc in next dc, 1dc in each of the  next 3dc,

* rpt from * to * to end, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. (77dc + ch3)


5th Row - Working in back loop of stitch only, rpt 3rd Row. Turn. (77dc + ch3)


6th Row - (Increase) Working through both loops of stitch from now on ch3, 1dc in next

dc, * 2dc in next dc, 1dc in each of the next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to end, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. (102dc + ch3)


7th Row - Rpt 3rd Row.  (102dc + ch3).


8th Row - (Increase) Rpt same as 6th Row until 1dc and ch3 remain, 2dc in dc, 1dc in

top of ch3. (136dc + ch3)


Commence with Skirt

Row 1 - ch3, skip 1dc, * 5dc in next dc, skip 1dc, 1dc in next dc, skip 1dc, * rpt from

* to * to end, working last dc in top of ch3. Turn. (34, 5dc groups)


Row 2 - ch3, 5dc in centre dc on 5dc group, skip 2dc, * trcb (see abbrev) in next single

dc, 5dc in centre dc on 5dc group, skip 2dc, * rpt from * to * to end, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn.


Row 3 - ch3, 5dc in centre dc on 5dc group, skip 2dc * trcf (see abbrev) in next single

trc, 5dc in centre dc on 5dc group, skip 2dc, * rpt from * to * to end, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn.


Row 4 - (divide for armholes) ch3, * 5dc in centre dc of 5dc group, skip 2dc, trcb in next single trc, * rpt from * to * (4 more times), skip 7, 5dc groups, trcb in next single trc, rpt

from * to * (10 more times), skip 7, 5dc groups, trcb in next single trc, rpt from * to * (4 more times), 5dc in centre dc of next 5dc group, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn (20, 5dc groups)


Row 5 - ch3, * 5dc in centre dc of 5dc group, skip 2dc, trcf in next single trc, * rpt from

* to * (3 more times), 5dc in centre dc of 5dc group, skip 2dc and trc, work 1trc between

2trc underarm, skip next trc, rpt from * to * (9 more times), 5dc in centre dc of 5dc group, skip 2dc and trc, work 1trc between 2trc underarm, skip next trc, rpt from * to * (4 more times), 5dc in centre dc of next 5dc group, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. (20, 5dc groups)


Row 6 - ch3, * 5dc in centre dc of 5dc group, trcb in next single trc, * rpt from * to * to last 5dc group and ch3, 5dc in centre dc of 5dc group, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn.


Row 7 - ch3, * 5dc in centre dc of 5dc group, trcf in next single trc, * rpt from * to * to last

5dc group and ch3, 5dc in centre dc of 5dc group, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn.


Rpt last 2 rows until work measures approx 9.5” from shoulder or 10, 5dc group rows

have been worked in all from yoke, ending with a Row 6.


Next Row - ch4, * 5dc in centre dc of 5dc group, ch1, skip 2dc, trcf in next single trc,

ch1, * rpt from * to * to last 5dc group and ch3, 5dc in centre dc of 5dc group, ch1, 1dc in

top of ch3. Turn.


Next Row - ch4, * 5dc in centre dc of 5dc group, ch1, skip 2dc, trcb in next single trc,

ch1, * rpt from * to * to last 5dc group and ch4, 5dc in centre of 5dc group, ch1, 1dc in 3rd

of ch4. Turn.


Next Row - ch4, * 5dc in centre dc of 5dc group, ch1, skip 2dc, trcf in next single trc,

ch1, * rpt from * to * to last 5dc group and ch4, 5dc in centre dc of 5dc group, ch1, 1dc in

3rd of ch4. Fasten off. (You should have 13, 5dc group rows in all)


Sleeves x 2 - With WS facing and 4.00mm hook, rejoin main color yarn to side of single

trc underarm, ch3, * 5dc in centre dc of 5dc group, skip 2dc, trcb in next single trc, * rpt

from * to * to end, 1dc in side of trc, on opposite side of sleeve, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn. (7, 5dc groups)


Starting with Row 7, rpt skirt Pattern Rows 6 & 7 seven more times, slip stitching to top

of ch3 on beginning of each row (instead of working 1dc in top of ch3) and turning after

each row, you should have 11 rows in all from yoke or sleeve seam measures approx 5” from underarm. Fasten off. Turn.


With WS facing and 4.00mm hook, join in contrast color at beginning of row just worked,

ch1, sl st in base of ch1, 1sc in each dc and sl st in each trc to end, sl st to first sl st at beginning of row. Fasten off. (42 stitches in all)


Button/Buttonhole Bands - Turn through to RS. Starting at lower edge on right hand side with main color and 4.00mm hook, work 42sc evenly up front edge, 3sc in corner, 51sc around neck edge, 3sc in corner and 42sc down 2nd front edge. Turn. Fasten off.


Next Row - (buttonhole row) With contrast color yarn work ch1, 2sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc up front edge to corner, 3sc in corner 1sc in each sc around neck to next corner

and front edge, 3sc in corner, * ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in next 6sc, * rpt from * to * once more, ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in each sc to corner, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each dc and ch space, sl st in each trc across bottom of coat to left edge, 1sc in corner, join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off.


Return to loose loops on yolk, with RS facing, 4.50mm hook and main color, working downwards on yolk, join yarn to first loop, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * skip 1 loop, 5dc in

next loop, skip 1 loop, 1sc in next loop, * rpt from * to * to end. Fasten off. Turn. (19, 5dc groups)


With WS facing join in contrast color, starting with a sl st to first sc, work 1sc in each dc and sl st in each sc to end. Fasten off.


Finishing - Sew in and tie off loose ends of yarn. Sew on 3 buttons at yoke. Decorate with rosebuds and ribbon.


Bonnet - Using 4.00mm hook and main color, ch59, 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc in each ch to end. Turn (56dc + ch3)


Next Row - ch3, 1dc in each dc to end, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn.


Rpt last row 6 more times making 8 rows in all turning at the end of each row. Fasten off. Turn.


Next Row - Skip 21dc, rejoin main color yarn to back loop of 22nd dc, working in back loop only ch3, 1dc in next 14dc. Turn. (14dc + ch3)


Working through both loops from now on continue on these centre stitches, by working ch3, 1dc in each dc and 1dc in top of ch3, until centre panel fits along side panels (approx 11 rows). Fasten off.


Brim - With main color yarn, 4.00mm hook and WS facing rejoin yarn to cast on edge at

front of bonnet, work ch3, * skip ch1, 5dc in next ch, skip ch1, 1dc in next ch, * rpt from

* to * to end. Turn. (14, 5dc groups) Turn.


Working in single dc's not trc on Pattern Row 6, work Pattern Rows 6 & 7 from coat once, making 3, 5dc group rows in all. Fasten off. Turn.


Join in contrast color with a sl st in first sc, 1sc in each dc and sl st to each singe trc to end. Fasten off.


Back Frill - With WS facing and centre panel nearest to you, working in back loop of stitch rejoin main color to first stitch, ch3 * skip 1dc, 5dc in next dc, skip 1dc, 1dc in next dc * rpt from * to * all across and including loose loops on centre panel to end. Turn. (14, 5dc groups) Turn.


Work Pattern Row 7 from coat once (working in singles dc's not trc's). Fasten off. Turn.


Slip stitch contrast color yarn in first sc, 1sc in each dc and sl st in each single trc to end. Fasten off. Sew up side seams using loose loops on centre panel, turn through to RS.


Turn back brim onto front of bonnet, with 4.00mm hook, starting at front with RS facing and main color yarn ch3, work 1 row of dc stitch evenly along neck edge catching in brim on both sides of bonnet as you go. Fasten off. Turn. Join in contrast color, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 1sc in each dc to end. Fasten off.


Finishing - Sew in and tie off any loose ends, thread ribbon through alternate dc’s at neck edge. Decorate with rosebuds.


Booties - With main color yarn, and 4.00mm hook ch28, 1sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1sc in each ch to end. Turn. (27sc)


Next Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in next 2sc, * rpt from * to * to

last 2sc, ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in last sc. Turn.


Next Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc and ch space to end. Fasten off. Turn. (27sc)


Instep - Skip 9sc, rejoin main color yarn to 10th sc, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in next

8sc, turn leaving remaining 9sc un-worked. (9sc). Starting with ch1 on each row, work a further 6 rows in sc on these 9 stitches. Fasten off.


Rejoin contrast color yarn at base of ankle where you casted off. Work ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each of next 8sc along first side of ankle, work 7sc evenly in row ends along instep, 1sc in each 9sc along toe, 7sc evenly in row ends down second side of instep, 1sc

in each of next 9sc along second side of ankle. Turn. Fasten off.


Next Row - Join in main color yarn, ch1, 1sc in each sc to end. Turn. (41sc)


Next Row (Dec) - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in next 15sc, dec

1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in next sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in next 15sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in last sc. Turn.


Next Row - ch1, 1sc in each sc, to end. Turn. (37sc)


Next Row (Dec) - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in next 13sc, dec

1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in next sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in next 13sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in last sc. Turn.

 

Next Row - ch1, 1sc in each sc to end. Turn. (33sc)


Next Row (Dec) - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in next 11sc, dec

1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in next sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc, in next 11sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in last sc. Turn.


Next Row - ch1, 1sc in each sc to end. Turn. Fasten off. (29sc)


With WS facing rejoin main color yarn to cast on edge at top of boot, work ch3, skip 2ch's,

* 5dc in next ch, skip 1ch, 1dc in next ch, * rpt from * to * to last 5ch's, skip 1ch, 5dc in next ch, skip 2ch's, 1dc in last ch. Turn. (6, 5dc groups)


Next Row - ch3, rpt Pattern Row 7 from coat (working in single dc not trc). Fasten off. Turn.


Rejoin contrast color, with a sl st in first sc, 1sc in each dc, slip stitch in each trc to end, sl st in top of ch3. Fasten off.


Finishing - With WS side facing, sew along open seam. Sew in and tie off any loose ends of yarn, turn through to RS. Thread ribbon through eyelet holes at ankle and decorate with rosebuds.
