Materials
50 grams of King Cole big value baby DK in bright pink (294) Main
50 grams of King Cole big value baby DK in white (001) contrast
OR
1.75oz Worsted weight #3 yarn in main color
1.75oz Worsted weight #3 yarn in contrast color
5.00mm & 4.00mm crochet hooks
GAUGE - 9sc & 9 rows of sc measure approximately 2” square (5cm x 5cm)
**************************************************
With main color yarn and using 5.00mm hook ch25 (RS), change to 4.00mm hook, 1sc
in 2nd ch from hook, 1sc in each ch to end. (24sc). Turn.
Next Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in next 2sc. * rpt from
* to * to last 2sc, ch2 skip 1sc, 1sc in last sc. Turn.
Next row - ch1, 1sc in each sc and ch2 space to end. Turn. (24sc)
Next Row - ch1, 1sc in each sc to end. Fasten off. Turn.
Skip 8sc rejoin yarn to 9th sc with a sl st, ch1, 1sc in base of ch, 1sc in each
of next 7sc. Turn. (8sc)
Next row - ch1, 1sc in each of next 8sc. Turn. Rpt last row 6 more times until 8
rows in all have been worked. Fasten off.
With contrast color yarn and RS facing return and rejoin yarn with a sl st to cast
on edge,
ch3, * skip 1st, 5dc in next st, skip 1st, 1sc in next st,* rpt from * to * to last
3st’s, skip 1st, 5dc in next st, 1dc in last st. Fasten off. Turn. (6, 5dc groups)
With WS of bootie facing, join in main color with a sl st and work ch1, 1sc in base
of ch1, 1sc in each of the next 3dc, * ch3, 1sc in first of ch3, 1sc in same dc,
1sc in each of next 2dc, sl st in next sc, 1sc in next 3dc, * rpt from * to * to
last 2dc and ch3, ch3, 1sc in first of ch3, 1sc in same dc, 1sc in each of next 2dc,
1sc in top of ch3. Fasten off.
With contrast color yarn and RS facing return to
st where you casted off at ankle,

Rejoin yarn with a sl st, work 1sc in next 8sc along ankle, 8sc along instep, 8sc
along toe, 8sc along second side of instep, 8sc along ankle. Turn. (40sc)
Starting with ch1, work 1 more row in sc on these 40sc.
Next row - (dec row) ch1, 1sc in first sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in each of
the next 15sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, (twice), 1sc in next 15sc, dec 1sc over next
2sc, 1sc in last
sc. Turn. (36sc)
Starting with ch1, work 1 row in sc on these 36sc.
Next row - (dec row) ch1, 1sc in first sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in each of
the next 13sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, (twice), 1sc in next 13sc, dec 1sc over next
2sc, 1sc in last
sc. Turn. (32sc)
Starting with ch1, work 1 row in sc on these 32sc.
Next row - (dec row) ch1, 1sc in first sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in each of
the next 11sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, (twice), 1sc in next 11sc, dec 1sc over next
2sc, 1sc in last
sc. (28sc). Fasten off.
Making up and finishing - With WS facing sew open seam and fasten off all ends. Turn
through to RS. Thread ribbon through ch spaces at ankle and tie in bows.
