Materials
100 grams of King Cole big value baby 4ply in main colour
Small amount of King Cole big value baby 4ply in contrast
4.50mm, 4.00mm & 3.50mm crochet hooks
TENSION - 10tr and 6 rows of tr measure approx 2” x 2” (5cm x 5cm)

With 4.50mm hook, make 77ch, ss to first ch to make a ring, change to 3.50mm hook,
work 3ch, 1tr into each ch to end. Turn (76tr + 3ch)
Starting with 3ch on every row, work 16 more rows in tr stitch making 17 rows in
all. Fasten off. Turn.
Working into back loop of stitch only join contrast colour yarn, work 1ch, 1dc into
base of
1ch, 1dc into each tr to end, ss to first dc. Turn. (77dc)
Next Row - Working through both loops on stitch from now on make 1ch, ss to base
of
1ch, * 1tr into next dc, ss into next dc, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to first ss
on beginning of row. Turn.
Next Row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each stitch to end, ss to first dc
on beginning of row. Turn.
Work the last two rows 4 more times, slip stitching and turning at the end of each
row.
Fasten off. (77dc)
Re-join main colour yarn to cast on edge and work 1dc into each ch to end, ss to
first dc. Fasten off.
Make Chain Tie - With 4.00mm hook and a strand of each colour make 110ch. Fasten
off.
Make pompoms - Make a 2 small sized pom-poms (one in each colour),
I used the Clover Pom Pom maker size 35.
Finishing - Sew and tie off any ends, centre hat seam, starting at centre on front
of hat, thread chain tie through alternate tr’s on second row of tr’s from top of
hat, tie in a bow and attach bobbles to each end. Fold back brim.
