Materials

30 grams of Bernat Softee Baby in Antique White (30008) Colour 1

15 grams of Bernat Softee Baby in Prettiest Pink (30205) Colour 2

1.10oz of Worsted Weight #3 Yarn in colour 1

0.55oz of Worsted Weight Yarn in colour 2

4.00mm crochet hook

GAUGE - 6dc and 2.5 rows measures approx 1 Inch using 4.00mm hook

Bonnet - With colour 1, ch59, 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc in each ch to end. Turn. (56dc +ch3)

Pattern Row 1 - ch3, 1dc in next dc, * ch1, skip 1dc, 1dc in next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 2dc and ch3 to turn with, ch1, skip dc, 1dc in dc and top of ch3. Turn.

Pattern Row 2 - ch3, 1dc in each dc and ch1 space to end, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn.

Rpt Pattern Rows 1 & 2 twice, Rpt Pattern Row 1 once, you should have 8 rows worked in all from beginning. Fasten off. Turn.

Back Panel - Skip 21st, rejoin yarn to next dc, ch3, * 1dc in next (ch1 space and dc), * rpt from * to * six more times, turn leaving 20st and ch3 to turn with un-worked. (14dc + ch3)

Continue on these centre stitches following Pattern Rows 1 & 2 until centre panel fits along side panels. Fasten off. (you should have worked approx 10 rows)

With RS facing join colour 2 to cast on edge on front of bonnet, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each ch to end. Turn. (57sc)

Brim - Working through back loop of stitch only ch3, 1sc in base of ch3, * skip 1sc, work (1dc, 1sc) in next sc, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn.

Next Row - ch3, 1sc in base of ch3, * skip 1dc, work (1dc, 1sc) in next sc, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn.

Rpt last row three more times. Fasten off.

Join side seams, turn through to RS.

Neck Edging - With colour 1, work one row of dc's evenly in row ends along neck edge catching in brim as you go. Fasten off.

Chain Tie - Using colour 2, ch131, sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sl st in each ch to end. Fasten off. (130sl st)

Finishing - Weave in any loose ends of yarn and trim. Thread chain tie through alternate dc’s along neck edge of bonnet and tie in a bow.
