30 grams of King Cole big value baby DK in cream (046) Main Colour

Oddment of King Cole big value baby DK in bright pink (294) Contrast Colour

4.00mm crochet hook

1 mtr of 6mm wide ribbon in main colour (approx)

1 Rosebud

TENSION - 5 single tr and 3 rows of tr's measures approx 1 Inch

Hat - (Worked in rounds without turning throughout), With 4.00mm hook and main

colour make 6ch, ss to first ch to make a ring, 3ch, work 12tr into ring, ss to 3rd of 3ch.

(12tr + 3ch)

2nd Round - 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, 2tr into each tr to end, ss to 3rd of 3ch.

(25tr + 3ch)

3rd Round - 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, * 1tr into next tr, 2tr into next tr, * rpt from * to * to

last tr, 1tr into last tr, ss to 3rd of 3ch. (38tr + 3ch)

4th Round - 3ch, 1tr into next tr, 2tr into next tr, * 1tr into each of next 2tr, 2tr into next tr,

* rpt from * to * to end, ss to 3rd of 3ch. (51tr + 3ch)

5th Round - 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, * 1tr into next 3tr, 2tr into next tr, * rpt from * to * to

last 3tr, 1tr into each of last 3tr, ss to 3rd of 3ch. (64tr + 3ch)

6th Row - 3ch, 1tr into each tr to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of round.

Rpt 6th row once. Fasten off

Join in contrast colour and rpt 6th row three more times Fasten off.

Rejoin main colour and rpt 6th row twice, you should have worked 12 rounds in all.

Brim - Working into back loop of stitch only, work 3ch, 2tr into base of 3ch, * miss 1tr, 1tr

into next tr, miss 1tr, 5tr group (see abbrev) into next tr, * rpt from * to * to last 4tr, miss 1tr, 1tr into next tr, miss 1tr, 2tr into last tr, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of round.

(16, 5tr groups)

Next Row - 3ch, 6tr into base of 3ch, * miss 2tr, ss into next single tr, miss 2tr, 7tr into next

tr, * rpt from * to * to last single tr, ss into single tr, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Fasten off. (16, 7tr groups)

Finishing - Sew in and tie off any loose ends of yarn, thread ribbon through alternate tr’s

on centre row of contrast colour above brim, decorate with rosebud.
