Small amount of 100% Cotton
Double Knitting Yarn in Main Colour
Small amounts of 100% Cotton
Double Knitting Yarn in 4 Contrast Colours
5.00mm & 4.00mm crochet hooks

TENSION – N/A

With 5.00mm hook and contrast colour 1 make 4ch, ss to first ch to form a ring, make
2ch, 1htr into ring, 2ch, (2htr, 2ch) 3 times into ring, ss to top of 2ch on beginning of row. Turn.

Next Row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, (1dc, 2ch, 1dc) into 2ch space,  * 1dc into each
htr to 2ch space, (1dc, 2ch, 1dc) into 2ch space, * rpt from * to * to last htr, 1dc into last
htr, ss to first dc. Turn.

Pattern Row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * 1dc into each dc to 2ch space, (1dc, 2ch, 1dc) into 2ch space, * rpt from * to * to remaining dc, 1dc into each dc, ss to first dc. Turn.
Fasten off.

Change to 4.00mm hook and main colour, rpt last row four more times. Fasten off. Turn.

Join in in contrast colour 2 and rpt last row once. Turn.

Edging - 1ch, 1dc into next dc, * make 3ch, 1dc into each of next 2dc, * rpt from
* to * also working (1dc, 3ch, 1dc) into corners to end, make 3ch, ss to first dc. Fasten off.

Finishing - Sew in and tie off all loose ends of cotton. Make as many coasters as you
need in the same way using the remaining contrast colours.
