Materials
50 grams of Patons 100% Cotton DK in white (2691)
Oddments of Patons 100% Cotton DK in Contrast Colour
OR
50 grams of 100% Worsted Weight Mercerised Cotton in White
Oddments of 100% Worsted Weight Mercerised Cotton in Contrast
5.00mm & 4.00mm crochet hooks
GAUGE - 10 stitches and 7 rows measure approx 2” square on a 4.00mm hook

Using 5.00mm hook and white, ch30, change to 4.00mm hook, work 1sc in 2nd ch from
hook, * skip ch1, 3dc in next ch, skip ch1, 1sc in next ch, * rpt from * to * to
end. Turn.
Row 2 - ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, * skip 1dc, 1sc in next dc, skip 1dc, 3dc in sc,
* rpt
from * to * to last sc, 2dc in sc. Turn.
Row 3 - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * skip 1dc, 3dc in next sc, skip 1dc, 1sc in next
dc,
* rpt from * to * to end working last sc in top of ch3. Turn.
Row 4 - ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, * skip 1dc, 1sc in next dc, skip 1dc, 3dc in sc,
* rpt
from * to * to last sc, 2dc in sc. Turn. Fasten off.
Row 5 - Join in contrast color, work ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * skip 1dc, 3dc in
next sc,
skip 1dc, 1sc in next dc, * rpt from * to * to end working last sc in top of ch3.
Turn.
Rows 6-7 - Work same as Rows 2 & 3. Fasten off.
Rows 8-19 - Re-join white yarn and work same as Rows 2 & 3. Turn. (19 rows in all)
Row 20 - Rpt Row 2 once. Turn.
Dishcloth edging - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each st to ch3 to turn, 3sc in
top
of ch3 (corner) work 30sc evenly down side of dishcloth working in row ends, 3sc
in
corner, 27sc along bottom, 3sc in corner, 30sc evenly up second side of cloth working
in row ends , sl st to first sc. Turn.
Work one more row of sc around all four sides of dish cloth in white, working 3sc
in each corner and slip stitching to first sc on the end of row. Fasten off. Join
in contrast color
and rpt last row once. Fasten off. Re-join white and rpt last row twice. Fasten off.
Finishing - Sew and tie of loose ends of yarn.
