Dec. Leaving last loop of each stitch on hook,

yrh and pull through all loops.

Group. (1dc, 2tr) into same stitch

Crab stitch. Working from left to right work dc backwards

Base of ch. Work into first stitch

3ch counts as first tr

Finished size approx:-

13” wide x 13.5” long (not including straps)

Materials

100 gram balls of Double Knitting in Main Colour

100 grams of Double Knitting in Contrast Colour

6.00mm, 5.50mm & 3.50mm crochet hooks

TENSION - 4dc and 5 rows of dc's measures approx 1 inch

Base - With 6.00mm hook and main colour make 51ch, change to 5.50mm hook, work

3dc into 3rd ch from hook, 1dc into next 47dc, 6dc into last dc, working along opposite

side of cast on ch, work 1dc into each of next 47dc, 3dc into last dc, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. (106dc)

Next Row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc on beginning

of row. Turn.

Rpt last row 14 more times making 16 rows in all. Fasten off.

Main Piece - Join in contrast colour, working through back loop of stitch only, make 1ch,

1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc. Turn.

Next Row - Work through both loops from now on, make 1ch, (1dc, 2tr) into base of 1ch,

* miss 2dc, (1dc, 2tr) into next dc, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. (36 Groups)

Pattern Row - 1ch, (1dc, 2tr) into base of 1ch, * miss 2tr, (1dc, 2tr) into next dc, * rpt from

* to * to last 2tr and dc, miss last 2tr and dc, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.

Rpt Pattern Row 18 more times. Turn.

Next Row - 1ch, 1dc into each tr and dc to last 2tr and dc, dec 1dc over last 2tr, miss 1dc, ss to first dc. Turn. Fasten off. (106dc)

Top - Join in main colour, 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc. Turn. Rpt last row 6 more times. Turn.

Eyelet Row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into next dc, * make 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into each of next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to last 2dc, 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into last dc, ss to first dc

on beginning of row.

Next Row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc and 2ch space to end, ss to first

dc on beginning of row. (106dc)

Next Row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc on beginning

of row.

Rpt last row 5 more times. DNT.

Starting with 1ch and working from left to right, work one row of crab stitch, (see abbrev)

ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten off.

Using main colour, return to the loose loops around base, working from left to right work

one row of crab stitch. Fasten off.

Drawstring - With 5.50mm hook and main colour, make 110ch, ss into 2nd ch from hook, ss into each ch to end. Fasten off.

Straps x 2 - With main colour yarn and 6.00mm hook make 100ch, change to 5.50mm

hook, 1dc into 2nd ch from hook, 1dc into each ch to end. Turn. (99dc)

Next Row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end. Turn.

Strap Edging - 1ch, 2dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to last dc, 3dc into last dc,

1dc into row end down first side of strap, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each ch along cast on edge, 3dc into corner, 1dc into row end up second side of strap, 1dc into base of 1ch, ss

to first dc. DNT.

Starting with 1ch and working from left to right, work one row of crab stitch, around four

sides of strap, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten off.

Star Motif x 2 - Make magic circle, using 3.50mm hook make 1ch, work 12dc into circle, close circle with loose thread of yarn, ss to first dc. DNT.

Next Row - 1ch, (1dc, 4ch, 1dc) into base of 1ch, * miss 1dc, (1dc, 4ch, 1dc) into next dc,

* rpt from * to * to last dc, miss last dc, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten off.

Finishing - Sew in and tie off any loose ends of yarn. Attach all strap ends above eyelet holes opposite each other on to inside of bag, thread drawstring through eyelet holes,

using loose strands of yarn on star motifs, attach one motif to each end of drawstring,

gather top of bag by pulling both sides of drawstring and tie.
