Materials

30 grams of Stylecraft Special DK in Gold (1709) Colour 1

20 grams of Stylecraft Special DK in Cream (1005) Colour 2

4.00mm & 5.00mm crochet hooks

Clover pop pom maker size 45

TENSION - 3htr and 3 rows measure approx 1 Inch using 5.00mm hook

(Made in rounds without turning) - Using colour 1 make a magic circle, with 5.00mm hook make 2ch, work 12htr into ring, pull loose thread to close circle, miss 2ch, ss to first htr on beginning of row. (12htr)

2nd Row - (Inc Row) 2ch, 1htr into base of 2ch, 2htr into each htr to end, miss 2ch, ss to first htr on beginning of row. (23htr)

3rd Row - (Inc Row) 2ch, 1htr into base of 2ch, * 2htr into next htr, 1htr in next htr, * rpt from * to * to end, miss 2ch, ss to first htr on beginning of row. (34htr)

4th Row - (Inc Row) 2ch, 1htr into base of 2ch, 1htr into next htr, * 2htr into next htr, 1htr into each of next 2htr, * rpt from * to * to last 2htr, 1htr into each of last 2htr, miss 2ch, ss to first htr on beginning of row. (44htr)

5th Row - (Inc Row) 2ch, 1htr into base of 2ch, 1htr into each of next 2htr,

* 2htr into next htr, 1htr into each of next 3htr,* rpt from * to * to last htr, 2htr into last htr, miss 2ch, ss to first htr on beginning of row. (55htr)

6th Row - (Inc Row) 2ch, 1htr into base of 2ch, 1htr into each of next 3htr,

* 2htr into next htr, 1htr into each of next 4htr, * rpt from * to * to last htr, 2htr into last htr, miss 2ch, ss to first htr on beginning of row. (66htr)

7th Row - 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, * miss 2htr, 5tr into next htr, miss 2htr, 1tr into next htr, * rpt from * to * to last 5htr, miss 2htr, work 5tr into next htr, miss 2htr and 3ch, ss to first tr on beginning of row. (11, 5tr groups)

8th Row - 3ch, fptr (see abbrev) around first tr, * miss 2tr, 5tr into next tr, miss 2tr, fptr around next tr, * rpt from * to * to last 5tr group, miss 2tr, 5tr into next tr, miss 2tr and 3ch, ss to first tr on beginning of row.

Rpt 8th Row until eight 5tr group rows have been worked. Fasten off.

Brim - Join in colour 2, working into back loop of stitch only, make 3ch, work 3tr into base of 3ch, 3tr into each tr to end, miss 3ch, ss to first tr on beginning of row. (198tr)

Next Row - 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, 1tr into each tr to end, miss 3ch, ss to first tr. Fasten off.

Using colour 2 make a small pom pom, I used Clover pom pom maker size 45

Flower - (Made in continuous rows without turning) Using colour 1 make a magic circle, with 4.00mm hook, make 1ch, work 9dc into ring, pull loose strand of yarn to close circle, ss to first dc on beginning of row.

Row 2 - 1ch, 2dc into base of 1ch, 2dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten off. (18dc)

Row 3 - Join in colour 2 with ss to any dc, work (3ch, 3tr, 3ch, ss) into same dc, * miss 1dc, (ss, 3ch, 3tr, 3ch, ss) into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last dc, miss last dc, ss to ss on beginning of row. Fasten off (9 petals)

Finishing - Weave in all loose ends of yarn, attach pom pom to centre and flower to front.
