Approx size:- 5 inches wide x 56 inches long

Materials

100 grams of Double Knitting Yarn in Main

50 grams of Double Knitting Yarn in Contrast

4.50mm & 3.50mm crochet hooks

TENSION - 5tr and 3 rows of pattern measures approx 1 Inch Square

With 4.50mm hook and main colour yarn, make 20ch loosely, 1tr into 4th ch from hook

1tr into each ch to end. Turn. (17tr + 3ch)

Pattern Row 1 - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * make 2ch, miss 2tr, 1dc into space

between next 2tr, * rpt from * to * to end, working last dc into top of 3ch. Turn.

(8, 2ch spaces)

Pattern Row 2 - 3ch, 2tr into each 2ch space to end, 1tr into last dc. Turn. (17tr + 3ch)

Pattern Rows 1 & 2 form the pattern, rpt both rows until 87 tr rows have been worked

in all. Turn.

Edging - Change to 3.50mm hook, work 1ch, 2dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into tr to 3ch

to turn with, 3dc into top of 3ch, work 259dc evenly into row ends down first side of scarf

to corner, 3dc into corner, working along cast on edge, work 1dc into each ch to corner,

3dc into corner, work 259dc evenly into row ends up second side of scarf to corner, 1dc

into base of 1ch, ss to first dc. Turn. Fasten off.

Next Row - Join in contrast colour, 1ch, 2dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc around

all four sides of scarf to end, working 3dc into corners, ss to first dc. Fasten off. Using

main colour yarn work one more row of 1dc into each dc, working 3dc into corners, ss to

first dc. Fasten off.

Heart Motif x 6 - With contrast colour yarn make a magic circle, using 4.00mm hook work 4ch, (4dtr, 4tr, 1ch, 1dtr, 1ch, 4tr, 4dtr, 4ch, 1ss) into circle. Pull end of yarn to close circle. Turn.

Row 2 - 4ch, 1dc into top of 4ch, 2dc into each of next 2dc, 1dc into each of next 6st,

(1dc, 2ch, 1dc) into dtr, 1dc into each of next 6st, 2dc into each of next 3st, 1dc into top

of 4ch, make 4ch, ss into centre of magic circle. Pull loops tight and tie both at the back

of the heart. Fasten off. (use ends to attach to scarf with)

Finishing - Sew in and tie off loose ends of yarn, sew heart motifs randomly to each end

of scarf.
