Base of ch. Work in first stitch


Size to fit approx:- 10” in length micro prem baby


Materials

20 grams of King Cole big value baby DK in colour 1

22 grams of King Cole big value baby DK in colour 2

OR

1oz of Worsted Weight #3 in Color 1

1oz of Worsted Weight #3 in Color 2

4.00mm, 5.00mm & 5.50mm crochet hooks

Two small lengths of 5mm wide ribbon


GAUGE - 6sc and 5 rows of sc's measures approx 1 Inch square

Gown - With 4.00mm hook and color 1, ch33, 1sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1sc in each ch to end. Turn. (32sc)


Row 2 - (Inc) ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each of next 3sc, 3sc in next sc, 1sc in each of next 6sc, 3sc in next sc, 1sc in each of next 8sc, 3sc in next sc, 1sc in each of next 6sc, 3sc in next sc, 1sc in each of next 4sc. Turn. (40sc)

 

Row 3 - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to end. Turn

 

Row 4 - (Inc) ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each of next 4sc, 3sc in next sc, 1sc in each

of next 8sc, 3sc in next sc, 1sc in each of next 10sc, 3sc in next sc, 1sc in each of next

8sc, 3sc in next sc, 1sc in each of next 5sc. Turn. (48sc)

 

Row 5 - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to end. Turn.


Row 6 - (Inc) ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each of next 5sc, 3sc in next sc, 1sc in each

of next 10sc, 3sc in next sc, 1sc in each of next 12sc,  3sc in next sc, 1sc in each of next 10sc, 3sc in next sc, 1sc in each of next 6sc. Turn. (56sc)

 

Row 7 - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to end. Turn.

 

Row 8 - (Inc) ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in next  6sc, 3sc in next sc, 1sc in each of next 12sc, 3sc in next sc, 1sc in each of next 14sc, 3sc in next sc, 1sc in each of next 12sc,

3sc in next sc, 1sc in each of next 7sc. Turn. (64sc)

 

Row 9 - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to end. Turn.

 

Row 10 - (Shape Armholes) ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each of next 8sc, skip 14sc,

1sc in each of next 18sc, skip 14sc, 1sc in each of next 9sc, Turn. Fasten off. (36sc)


Commence Skirt - With 5.00mm hook and color 2, work ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each of next 2sc, 1dc in next sc, 2dc in next sc, * 1sc in each of next 3sc, 1dc in each of next 3sc, * rpt from * to * once, 1sc in next sc, 2sc in next sc, 1dc in each of next 3sc, rpt from * to * once, 1sc in next 3sc, 2dc in next sc, 1dc in next sc, 1sc in each of last 3sc.

Turn.


Pattern Row 1 - ch3, 1dc in each of next 2sc, * working in back loop of st, work 1sc in

each of next 3dc, work 1dc in each of next 3sc through both loops, * rpt from * to * to

end. Turn.


Pattern Row 2 - Work ch1, working through back loop of st, work 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc

in each of next 2dc, * work 1dc in each of next 3sc through both loops, 1sc in each of the next 3dc through back loop of st, * rpt from * to * to last 2dc and ch3, 1sc through back

loop of st on each of last 2dc, 1sc in top of ch3. Turn.


The last 2 rows form the pattern, rpt both rows until 6 rows have been worked, change to 5.50mm hook, work both pattern rows until 13 rows have been worked in all or work measures 7 inches from shoulder. Fasten off


Front Edgings


Right Front Edge - With color 1, 4.00mm hook and RS facing, start at lower edge on

right hand side of coat, work 30sc evenly in row ends up right front to corner. Turn. Work ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to end. Fasten off.


Left Front Edge - Rejoin color 1 to neck edge on left front work 30sc evenly in row ends down left front to end. Turn. Work ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to end.

Fasten off.


Hat - Make magic circle, with 4.00mm hook ch1, work 12sc in circle, sl st to first sc.

Turn. (12sc)


Next Row - (Inc) ch1, work 2sc in each sc to end, sl st to first sc. Turn. (24sc)


Next Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to end, sl st to first sc. Turn.


Next Row - (Inc) ch1, * work 2sc in next sc, 1sc in next sc, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to

first sc. Turn. (36sc)


Next Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to end, sl st to first sc. Turn. rpt last

row 8 more times or until 13 rows have been worked in all from beginning. Fasten off. Turn.


Join in color 1, working in back loop of stitch only, work one row of sc same as last row.

Turn. Working through both loops from now on work two more rows in sc. Fasten off.


Finishing - Sew in and tie off all loose ends of yarn, thread each piece of ribbon through alternate st under bodice from back of gown to centre st on front of gown on both sides

and tie in bows (front for decoration), (back to close the gown).
