Row 2 -
into each of next 6dc, 3dc into next dc, 1dc into each of next 8dc, 3dc into next dc, 1dc
into each of next 6dc, 3dc into next dc, 1dc into each of next 4dc. Turn. (40dc)
Row 3 -
Row 4 -
into each of next 8dc, 3dc into next dc, 1dc into each of next 10dc, 3dc into next dc, 1dc
into each of next 8dc, 3dc into next dc, 1dc into each of next 5dc. Turn. (48dc)
Row 5 -
Row 6 -
into each of next 10dc, 3dc into next dc, 1dc into each of next 12dc, 3dc into next dc, 1dc into each of next 10dc, 3dc into next dc, 1dc into each of next 6dc. Turn. (56dc)
Row 7 -
Row 8 -
of next 12dc, 3dc into next dc, 1dc into each of next 14dc, 3dc into next dc, 1dc into each
of next 12dc, 3dc into next dc, 1dc into each of next 7dc. Turn. (64dc)
Row 9 -

Pattern Row 1 -
* to * to end. Turn.
Pattern Row 2 -
Rpt Pattern Rows 1 & 2 four more times each until 9 rows have been worked in all from yoke. Rpt Pattern Row 1 once. Fasten off.
Sleeves x 2 -
of dc on opposite side, ss to first dc. Turn. (16dc)
Next Row -
Rpt Pattern Rows 1 & 2 three more times, slip stitching and turning at the end of each row. Rpt Pattern Row 1 once, ss at the end of the row. Fasten off.
Front edging -
hand side of coat, work 20dc evenly into row ends, up right front, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each stitch around neck, 3dc into corner, work 20dc evenly into row ends down left front
of coat. Fasten off.
Pants -
1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each ch to end, ss to first dc. Turn. (36ch)
Rpt Pattern Rows 1 & 2 from coat four times each, slip stitching and turning at the end of each row until 9 rows have been worked in all. Rpt Pattern Row 1 once, ss to first stitch. Turn.
Divide for legs -
first dc leaving 18dc un-
Working on these 18 stitches, rpt Pattern Rows 1 & 2 from coat four more times, slip stitching and turning at the end of each row. Rpt Pattern Row 1 once. Fasten off.
Second Leg -
1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each of next 17dc, ss to first dc. (18dc) Continue on these stitches in pattern as set and complete same as first leg. Fasten off.
With RS facing, rejoin colour 2 at waist and work 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * make 1ch,
miss 1dc, 1dc into each of next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to first dc. Fasten off.
Finishing -
prefer decorate with ribbon to neck and waist on pants but it is optional.
