Materials

30 grams of King Cole big value DK in white (001)

1.1oz of Worsted Weight #3 Yarn in white

4.00mm crochet hook

Adornments (from any craft shop) optional

GAUGE - 4.5sc and 5 rows of dc measure approx 1 Inch using 4.00mm hook

With 4.00mm hook ch22, work 1dc in 4th ch from hook, * ch1, skip 1ch, 1dc in each of next ch2, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn. (7, 2dc groups)

Next Row - ch3, 1dc in next dc, * ch1, skip ch1, 1dc in each of next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn.

Rpt last row until 10 rows have been worked in all. Turn.

Edging - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each dc and ch1 space to end, 3sc in top of ch3, work 18sc evenly in row ends down first side of doily to corner, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each ch along cast on edge to next corner, 3sc in corner, work 18sc evenly in row ends up second side of the doily, 1sc in base of ch1, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn.

Starting with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 1sc in each sc around all four sides of doily working 3sc in each corner, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn.

Rpt last row three more times. Turn.

Next Row - ch4, * skip 1sc, 1dc in next sc, ch1, * rpt from * to * to corner, work vst (see abbrev) in corner, ch1, rpt from * to * to next corner, vst in corner, ch1, rpt from * to * to corner, vst in corner, ch1, rpt from * to * to end, work 1dc, ch1 in base of ch3, sl st to 3rd of ch4 on beginning of row. Turn.

Starting with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 1sc in each dc and ch1 space around all four sides of doily working 3sc in ch1 space on each corner, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn.

Work one row of 1sc in each sc to end, working 3sc in each corner, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn.

Pattern Row 1 - ch1, (2sc, ch2, 2sc) in base of ch1, * skip 2sc, (2sc, ch2, 2sc) in next sc, * rpt from * to * around four sides of doily to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. DNT.

Pattern Row 2 - sl st to first ch2 space, (2sc, ch2, 2sc) in same space,

* skip 4sc, (2sc, ch2, 2sc) in next ch2 space, * rpt from * to * around four sides of doily to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Fasten off.

Finishing - Weave in loose ends of yarn, attach adornments of your choice to doily.
