3dc Group. 3dc in same stitch or space.

5dc Group. 5dc in same stitch or space.

dc2tog. Leaving last loop of each dc on hook,
work 2dc in next sc, yo and draw through 3 loops

Base of ch. Work in first stitch

ch3 counts as first dc

Finished size approx:  8.5 inches diameter

Materials
30 grams of Patons 100% Cotton DK in Colour 1
30 grams of Patons 100% cotton DK in  Colour 2

OR
1oz of Worsted Weight 100% cotton in color 1
1oz of Worsted Weight 100% cotton in color 2
4.00mm crochet hook

GAUGE - 5.5dc and 2 rows measures approx 1 Inch

Worked in rounds without turning, make 2 pieces the same.

Using color 1 make a magic circle, with 4.00mm hook ch1, (RS) work 8sc in ring, pull loose thread to close circle, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. (8sc)

Row 2 - ch1, 2sc in each sc to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. (16sc)

Row 3 - ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, work dc2tog (see abbrev) in each sc to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Fasten off. (15, dc2tog, 1dc + ch3)

Row 4 - Join in color 2 to top of ch3 on previous row, ch3, 1dc in next dc, * ch1, dc2tog in next dc2tog, * rpt from * to * to end, ch1, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. (This row may appear to be pulling slightly, but it will flatten out on the next row)

Row 5 - sl st to first ch1 space, ch3, work 2dc in same ch1 space,
* skip 1dc2tog, 3dc in next ch1 space, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. (16, 3dc groups)

Row 6 - sl st to first dc, ch3, work 4dc in same dc, * skip 2dc, 5dc in next dc, * rpt from * to * to last dc, skip last dc, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Fasten off.

Row 7 - Join in color 1 to centre dc of first group, ch3, work 4dc in same dc, * skip 4dc, 5dc in next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 2dc, skip last 2dc, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. (16, 5dc groups)

Row 8 - sl st to centre dc of group, ch3, work 6dc in same dc, * skip 4dc, 7dc in next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 2dc, skip last 2dc, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Fasten off.

Row 9 - Join in color 2 to top of ch3 on previous row, ch3, 1dc in each dc to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. (111dc + ch3) Fasten off.

Weave in any loose ends of yarn and trim.

Work second piece the same as first. Do not fasten off after Row 9.

Joining Pieces - Place WS of both pieces together and working on RS  line up the ch3's on the start of last row, working through dc's on both pieces, work 1sc in each dc to end to seal the edges, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Fasten off.

Fancy Edge - Join in color 1 with a sl st, * ch3, skip 1sc, sl st to in next sc, * rpt from * to * 25 more times, ch10, sl st to same sc, rpt from * to * to end, working last sl st to first sl st on beginning of row. Fasten off.

Weave in ends of loose yarn and trim.
