tr2tog.

Leaving last loop on hook work 2tr into space,

yrh and draw through all loops.


tr3tog.

Leaving last loop on hook work 3tr into space,

yrh and draw through all loops.


tr4tog.

Leaving last loop on hook work 4tr into space, yrh and draw through all loops.


Base of ch. Work into first stitch     ~~~~~     3ch counts as first tr


Finished size approx: 9.5" Diameter


Materials

100 grams of King Cole big value baby DK in Main Colour

Small amounts of King Cole big value baby DK in Contrast Colours 1 & 2

4.50mm & 4.00mm crochet hooks


TENSION - 5tr and 2 rows measures approx 1" square

Back - (Made in rounds without turning) - With Main Colour yarn make magic circle, using 4.00mm hook (RS) work 3ch, 13tr into circle, close circle by pulling loose thread, ss to top

of 3ch on beginning of row. Fasten off. (13tr + 3ch)


Round 2 - Join in contrast colour 1 with a ss to between 3ch and first tr, 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, make 1ch, * 1dc into space between next 2tr's, 1ch, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to first dc. (14dc + 14, 1ch spaces)


Round 3 - ss to first 1ch space, 3ch, tr2tog into same space, * 2ch, tr3tog into next 1ch space, * rpt from * to * to end, 2ch, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Fasten off.

(14, tr3tog) (see abbrev for tr2tog and tr3tog)


Round 4 - Join main colour yarn to first 2ch space with a ss, make 3ch, 3tr into same

space, miss tr3tog, * 4tr into next 2ch space, miss tr3tog, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to top

of 3ch on beginning of row. (55tr + 3ch)


Round 5 - 3ch, 1tr into first tr, 2ch, * tr2tog over next 2tr, 2ch, * rpt from * to * end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Fasten off. (28, tr2tog)


Round 6 - Join in contrast colour 2 to first 2ch space with a ss, work 3ch, 2tr into same space, * miss tr2tog, 3tr into next 2ch space, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. (83tr + 3ch)


Round 7 - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 4ch, miss 2tr, * 1dc into space between next 3tr, 4ch, miss 3tr, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to first dc. Fasten off. (28ch spaces, 28dc)


Round 8 - Rejoin main colour yarn with ss to first 4ch space, make 3ch, tr3tog into same space, * 4ch, tr4tog into next 4ch space, * rpt form * to * to end, 4ch, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. (28, tr4tog)


Round 9 - ss to first 4ch space, work 3ch, 3tr into same space, * miss tr4tog, 4tr into next 4ch space, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. (111tr + 3ch)


Round 10 - 3ch, 1tr into each of next 2tr, * 2tr into next tr, 1tr into each of next 3tr, * rpt

from * to * to last tr, work 2tr into last tr, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Fasten off. (139tr + 3ch) Put to one side and we will come back to later.


Front - Same as for back, repeat rounds 1-10


Side Panel - Working through back loop of stitch only, re-join main colour yarn with a ss

to any tr on front, (I have tried to position the ss seam towards the bottom approx 50tr from joining) make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each of next 99tr, turn leaving 40tr

un-worked for opening. (see pic 1) (100dc)











Next Row - Working through both loops make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc

to end. Turn. Rpt last row 3 more times, making 5dc rows in all. Turn.


Join back to front - Working on WS and using 4.50mm hook, align slip stitch seam on back to slip stitch on front, join back of bag to side panel by ss through each of the dc on side panel and back loop on back of bag (see pic 2) to end. Fasten off leaving 40tr un-worked

for opening. Turn through to right side.










Shell Edge - Using 4.50mm hook join contrast colour 1 with a ss to top of 3ch on bottom

of bag, working into loose loops (were you worked into the back of the stitch for side panel, (see pic 1) miss 1 loop, 5htr into next loop, * miss 1 loop, ss into next loop, miss 1 loop,

5htr into next loop, * rpt from * to * to last loop, miss last loop, ss to first ss. Fasten off.


Rpt Shell Edge on back of bag. Fasten off.


Shoulder Strap - Using 4.00mm hook join main colour yarn to centre of top of side panel, (by opening) make 170ch, make sure not to twist ch, ss to opposite side of bag on centre

of side panel, working back along ch's work 1dc into each ch to end, ss to panel. Fasten off.
