Base of ch. Work into first stitch

4ch counts as first tr and 1ch

Finished size approx:

3.25 Inches wide x 20 Inches Circumference

Materials

25 grams of Stylecraft Special DK in Colour 1

Small amount of Stylecraft Special DK in Colour 2

4.00mm, 6.00mm & 5.00mm crochet hooks

TENSION - 5dc and 3 rows of pattern measures approx 1 Inch using 5.00mm hook

Headband - With 6.00mm hook make 12ch, change to 5.00mm hook, (WS) work 1dc into 2nd ch from hook, 1dc into each ch to end. Turn. (11dc)

Pattern Row 1 - 4ch, miss 1dc, 1tr into next dc, * make 1ch, miss 1dc, 1tr into next dc, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn. (5tr, 5, 1ch spaces + 3ch)

Pattern Row 2 - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each 1ch space and tr to end, 1dc into 3rd of 4ch. Turn. (11dc)

Rpt Pattern Rows 1 & 2 until 55 rows have been worked or work measures 19.5 Inches. Turn.

Rpt Pattern Row 1 once.

Fold headband in half and with WS facing ss cast on edge and last row worked together to make a circle. Do not fasten off.

Border - With 4.00mm hook, colour 1 and working along the side of the headband into row ends, work 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * 1dc into side of next dc, 2dc into side of next tr, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. (85dc)

Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten off.

Rpt last 2 rows along opposite side of headband.

Flower - Made in rounds without turning using 5.00mm hook

Starting with colour 1 yarn make a magic circle, work 1ch, 12dc into circle, close circle pulling loose thread, ss to first dc on beginning of row. (12dc)

Next Row - Working into front loop of stitch only make 1ch, work (1dc, 3tr, 1dc) into base of 1ch, * miss 1dc, (1dc, 3tr, 1dc) into next dc, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten off. (6 petals)

Change to colour 2 and working behind last row into back loops of dc work 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each loose loop to end, ss to first dc. (12dc)

Next Row - 1ch (1dc, 1tr, 3dtr, 1tr, 1dc) into base of 1ch, * miss 1dc, (1dc, 1tr, 3dtr, 1tr, 1dc) into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last dc, miss last dc, ss to first dc. Fasten off. (6 petals)

Finishing - Weave in and trim all loose ends of yarn, position and attach flower to headband.
