100 grams of King Cole big value baby DK in Cream (046) main colour

50 grams of King Cole big value baby DK in Camel (291) contrast

3.5oz of Baby Worsted Weight #3 Yarn in main color

1.75oz of Baby Worsted Weight #3 Yarn in contrast color

3.50mm Crochet Hook

4 medium buttons


GAUGE - 12dc & 6 rows of dc measures approx 2” square

 Coat Start with Yoke (worked in one piece). Using 3.50mm hook and main color yarn, ch65, (RS) 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc in the next 7ch's, (front) 3dc in next ch, 1dc in next 10ch's, (shoulder) 3dc in next ch, 1dc in the next 21ch's, (back) 3dc in next ch, 1dc in the next 10ch's, (shoulder) 3dc in next ch, 1dc in the next 9ch's. (front) Turn. (70dc + ch3)


2nd Row - ch3, 1dc in the next 9dc, 3dc in next dc, 1dc in next 12dc, 3dc in next dc, 1dc

in the next 23dc, 3dc in next dc, 1dc in the next 12dc, 3dc in the next dc, 1dc in the next

9dc, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. Fasten off. (78dc + ch3)

 

3rd Row - Join in contrast color yarn, ch3, 1dc in the next 10dc, 3dc in next dc, 1dc in

next 14dc, 3dc in next dc, 1dc in the next 25dc, 3dc in next dc, 1dc in the next 14dc, 3dc

in the next dc, 1dc in the next 10dc, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. (86dc + ch3)

 

4th Row - ch3, 1dc in the next 11dc, 3dc in next dc, 1dc in next 16dc, 3dc in next dc, 1dc

in the next 27dc, 3dc in next dc, 1dc in the next 16dc, 3dc in the next dc, 1dc in the next 11dc, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. (94dc + ch3)

 

5th Row - ch3, 1dc in the next 12dc, 3dc in next dc, 1dc in next 18dc, 3dc in next dc, 1dc

in the next 29dc, 3dc in next dc, 1dc in the next 18dc, 3dc in the next dc, 1dc in the next 12dc, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. (102dc + ch3)

 

6th Row - ch3, 1dc in the next 13dc, 3dc in next dc, 1dc in next 20dc, 3dc in next dc, 1dc

13th Row - (Divide for armholes & Inc) - ch3, 1dc in next dc, * 2dc in next dc, 1dc in each

of next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to 3dc group on corner, 2dc in next dc, 1dc in centre dc on corner, skip 34dc, 1dc in centre dc of 3dc group on next corner, rpt from * to * to next

corner, 2dc in centre dc on corner, skip 34dc, 1dc in centre dc of next corner, 1dc in next

dc, rpt from * to * to last dc and ch3, 2dc in next dc, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. (120dc + ch3)


Commence Skirt - (WS) Using 3.50mm hook, work ch3, 1dc in each of next 2dc, * ch2,

skip 1dc, 1dc in each of next 5dc,* rpt from * to * to last 3dc and ch3 to turn, work ch2, skip 1dc, 1dc in each of next 2dc, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. (19, 5dc blocks + 2 half blocks at

each end).

 

Next Row - ch3, skip first 2dc, * 6dc in ch2 space, skip 2dc, trcf (see abbrev) around next dc, skip next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to last ch2 space, 2dc and ch3 to turn, skip 2dc, 6dc in

ch2 space, skip 2dc, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. (20, 6dc groups)

 

Pattern Row 1 - ch3, 1dc in each of next 2dc, * ch2, skip 2dc, 1dc in each of next 2dc,

trcb (see abbrev) around next trc, 1dc in each of next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to last 4dc and ch3 to turn, ch2, skip 2dc, 1dc in each of next 2dc, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. (19, blocks + 2 half blocks at each end).

 

Pattern Row 2 - ch3, skip first 2dc, * 6dc in ch2 space, skip 2dc, 1trcf around next trc,

skip next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to last ch2 space, 2dc and ch3 to turn, 6dc in ch2 space,

skip 2dc, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. (20, 6dc groups).

 

The last 2 rows form the pattern, rpt both rows until 7 complete patterns have been worked from yoke or work measures from shoulder approx 12“ Fasten off. Join in contrast color

yarn and rpt Pattern Rows 1 & 2 once. Fasten off.


Buttonhole Band - With WS facing, 3.50mm hook and contrast color yarn, start at neck edge on right hand side and working down front edge to bottom of jacket, work 2sc in each row end to end. (59sc). Turn.


Next Row - (Buttonholes) ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each of next 32sc, * ch2, skip

1sc, 1sc in next 7sc, * rpt from * to * twice more, ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in last 2sc. Turn.

(4 buttonholes made). Fasten off.


Button Band - With WS facing and 3.50mm hook, rejoin contrast color yarn to bottom of jacket on left hand side, working up front edge towards neck, work 2sc in row ends evenly along. (59sc). Turn. Starting with ch1 work one more row of sc on these stitches. Turn.


Next Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to neck edge, 3sc in corner, 1sc in sc row end, 1sc in each ch around neck, 1sc in sc row end, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each sc and

ch space to end. Fasten off.


Finishing - Sew in and tie off any loose threads of yarn. Turn through to RS side, sew on buttons to correspond with buttonholes.


Flower - (Made in rounds without turning) With main color yarn and 3.50mm hook ch4, sl st to first ch to form a ring, ch1, work 12sc in ring, sl st to first sc. Fasten off.


Next Row - Join in contrast color yarn with a sl st, * ch10, skip 1sc, sl st in next sc, * rpt from * to * to last sc, ch10, skip last sc, sl st to first sl st. (6, 10ch spaces)


Next Row - * sl st in 10ch space, work (ch3, 5dc, ch2, 6dc) in same space, sl st to next

sl st, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to first sl st. Fasten off. (6 petals)


Finishing - Use loose threads of yarn to sew flower to coat, sew in and tie off.
