Materials

50 grams of King Cole big value baby DK in cream (046) Main Colour

20 grams of Stylecraft Special DK in claret (1123) contrast (optional for stripes)

1.75oz of Worsted Weight #3 Yarn in Main Color

1oz of Worsted Weight #3 Yarn in Contrast Colour (optional for stripes)

5.00mm & 4.00mm crochet hooks

GAUGE - 5sc and 4 rows measures approx 1 Inch using a 4.00mm hook

T-Bag Hat - With 5.00mm hook and contrast color yarn ch37, change to 4.00mm hook

(WS) 1sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1sc in each ch to end. Turn. Fasten off. (36sc)

Join in main color yarn.

Pattern Row - Working in back loop of stitch only ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc

to end. Turn.

Rpt Pattern Row 8 more times in main color yarn until 10 rows have been worked from beginning, this forms the color sequence. Fasten off.

Weaving in ends as you go rpt Pattern Row once in contrast color yarn followed by nine rows in main color yarn until 70 rows have been worked in all from beginning. Turn.

Fold in half from bottom to top, with WS facing slip stitch cast-on edge and the last pattern

row together to form a circle. Do not fasten off.

Brim - With RS facing and working in row ends around the circle, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 69 more sc evenly around to end, sl st to first sc. Turn. (70sc)

Starting with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 1sc in each sc to end, sl st to first sc. Fasten off.

Centre seam to back, sl st top edge together to close, (see pic) weave in any loose ends, turn through to right side.

Finishing - Make 2 Pom-Poms in contrast color, I used Clover Pom-Pom maker size 45, attach one pom-pom to each corner and secure tightly, fold brim up approx 1.5 Inches on to RS of hat.
