Base of ch. Work in first stitch

Dec. Decrease

Insert loop in next sc, pull up loop, (twice),yo pull through all loops.

Size to fit approx: 0-3 month baby

Materials

30 grams of King Cole big value baby DK in any colour (your choice)

1.10oz of Worsted Weight Yarn

4.50mm & 4.00mm crochet hooks, 2 novelty buttons

GAUGE - 5sc and 6 rows measures approx 1 Inch using 4.00mm hook

Using 4.50mm Hook ch24, sl st to first ch to make a ring (WS) Change to 4.00mm hook, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each ch to end, sl st to first sc on beginning row (24sc) Turn.

Next Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn.

Rpt last row 5 more times, making 7 rows in all. Turn.

Next Row - Working in back loop of stitch only ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn.

Working through both loops from now on rpt last row 7 more times. Fasten off. Turn.

Instep - Skip 8sc rejoin yarn to 9th sc with a sl st, ch1, 1sc in base of ch, 1sc in each of

next 7sc. Turn. (8sc)

Next row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each of next 7sc. Turn. Rpt last row 6 more times until 8 rows in all have been worked. Fasten off.

Shape Sole - With WS facing return to back seam where you casted off at ankle,

Work 1sc in next 8sc along ankle, 8sc in row ends along first side of instep, 8sc along toe, 8sc in row ends along second side of instep, 8sc along ankle, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn. (40sc)

Row 2 - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to end, sl st to first sc.

Row 3 (Dec Row) - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in each of the next 15sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, (twice), 1sc in next 15sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in last

sc, sl st to first sc. Turn. (36sc)

Row 4 - Rpt Row 2.

Row 5 (Dec Row) - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in each of the next 13sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, (twice), 1sc in next 13sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in last

sc, sl st to first sc. Turn. (32sc)

Row 6 - Working in back loop of stitch only, Rpt Row 2.

Row 7 (Dec Row) - Working through both loops from now on, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in each of the next 11sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, (twice), 1sc in next 11sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in last sc, sl st to first sc. (28sc) Turn.

Row 8 (Dec Row) - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in each of the next 9sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, (twice), 1sc in next 9sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in last sc,

sl st to first sc. (24sc) Turn.

Row 9 (Dec Row) - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in each of the next 7sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, (twice), 1sc in next 7sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in last sc,

sl st to first sc. (20sc) Turn.

ch1, with WS of bootie facing, sl st through both sides of sc to close gap on sole of bootie.

Finishing - Weave in all ends. Turn through to RS, turn down cuff, attach novelty buttons to front of each bootie.
