dec. Leaving the last loop of each stitch on hook,

yo and draw through all 3 loops.


Picot Edge

1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 2ch,

1dc into same stitch at base of 1ch,

* miss 1dc, (1dc, 2ch, 1dc) into next dc,

* rpt from * to * all around.


3ch counts as tr throughout.


Approx sizes:- Bib 9.5” x 8.5” , Bottle Cover 8” high,

                            Burp Cloth 14” x 12”  


Materials

200 grams of Patons 100% Cotton DK in white (2691) main colour

50 grams of Patons 100% Cotton DK  in contrast

5.00mm & 4.50mm crochet hooks


TENSION -  9tr’s and 7 Pattern Rows measure approx 2” x 2”

Bottle cover - With 4.50mm hook and main colour make 6ch, ss to first ch to make a ring, 3ch, work 13tr into ring, ss to top of 3ch. DNT. (13tr + 3ch)


Next Round - 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, work 2tr into each tr to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. DNT. (27tr + 3ch)


Next Round - Working into back of stitch only, make 3ch, 1tr into each tr to end, ss to top

of 3ch. Turn.


Next Round - 1ch, ss into base if 1ch, * 1tr into next tr, ss into next tr, * rpt from * to * to

last tr, 1tr into last tr, ss into first ss. Turn. Fasten off. (14tr)


Next Round - Join in contrast colour yarn, make 3ch, 1tr into each stitch to end, ss to top

of 3ch. Turn. Fasten off. (27tr + 3ch)


Next Round - With main colour yarn, make 1ch, ss into base if 1ch, * 1tr into next tr, ss

into next tr, * rpt from * to * to last tr, 1tr into last tr, ss into first ss. Turn.


Next Round - 3ch, 1tr into each stitch to end, ss to top of 3ch. Turn.


Next Round - 1ch, ss into base if 1ch, * 1tr into next tr, ss into next tr, * rpt from * to * to

last tr, 1tr into last tr, ss into first ss. Turn. Fasten off.


Next Round - Join in contrast colour yarn, make 3ch, 1tr into each stitch to end, ss to top

of 3ch. Turn. Fasten off.


Join in main colour yarn and continue with:-


Pattern Row 1 - 1ch, ss into base if 1ch, * 1tr into next tr, ss into next tr, * rpt from * to * to last tr, 1tr into last tr, ss into first ss. Turn.


Pattern Row 2 - 3ch, 1tr into each stitch to end, ss to top of 3ch. Turn.


Pattern Rows 1 & 2 form the pattern, rpt both rows 6 more times each until 23 rows have been worked in all from beginning. Turn.


Next Round - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each tr to end, ss to first dc. Fasten off.


With main colour yarn, return to loops on base of cover, with top of cover nearest to you

and with 4.50mm hook, work 1 row of Picot Edge (see abbrev above) into loose loops. Fasten off.


Chain Tie - With 4.50mm hook and using contrast colour yarn double thickness, make

75ch. Fasten off.


Finishing - Sew in and tie off any loose ends of yarn, thread crochet chain tie through alternate tr’s on second row of tr’s from the top of bottle cover and tie in a bow.


Bib - With 5.00mm hook and main colour, make 29ch loosely, change to 4.50mm hook,

work 1tr into 4th ch from hook, 1tr into each ch to end. Turn. (26tr + 3ch)

 

Next Row - 1ch, 1ss into base of 1ch, * 1tr into next tr, 1ss into next tr, * rpt from * to * to end, working last ss into top of 3ch. Turn. (13tr)

 

Next Row - 3ch, 1tr into each stitch to end. Turn. (26tr + 3ch)


Work Pattern Row 1 (as on Bottle Cover) once, working last ss into top of 3ch. Turn.

Fasten off.


Next Row - Join in contrast colour, make 3ch, 1tr into each stitch to end. Turn. Fasten off.

(26tr + 3ch)


With main colour yarn work Pattern Rows 1, 2 & 1. Fasten off.


Next Row - Join in contrast colour, make 3ch, 1tr into each stitch to end. Turn. Fasten off.

(26tr + 3ch)


Rpt Pattern Rows 1 & 2 a further 4 times or until work measures 5.5” from beginning. Turn. Rpt Pattern Row 1 once. Turn.


Neck shaping - 3ch, 1tr into the next 6 stitches. Turn. (6tr + 3ch).


Next Row - 1ch, 1ss into base of 1ch, * 1tr into next tr, 1ss into next tr, * rpt from * to * to end, working last ss into top of 3ch. Turn. (3tr).


Next Row - (Dec) 3ch, 1tr into the next 2 stitches, dec 1tr over next 2 stitches (twice)

see abbreviations for decreasing. Turn. (4tr + 3ch)


Next Row - 1ch, 1ss into base of 1ch, * 1tr into next tr, 1ss into next tr, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn. (2tr)


Next Row - (Dec) 3ch, dec 1tr over next 2 stitches (twice). Fasten off. (2tr + 3ch).

 

Second Side of neck - With main colour yarn, miss centre 13 stitches, rejoin yarn to 14th stitch, 3ch, 1tr into next 6tr. Turn. (6tr + 3ch)

 

Next Row - 1ch, 1ss into base of 1ch, * 1tr into next tr, 1ss into next tr, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn. Fasten off. (3tr)

 

Next Row - (Dec) 3ch, dec 1tr over next 2 stitches (twice), 1tr into each of next 2 stitches. Turn. (4tr + 3ch)

 

Next Row - 1ch, 1ss into base of 1ch, * 1tr into next tr, 1ss into next tr, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn. (2tr)

 

Next Row - (Dec) 3ch, dec 1tr over next 2 stitches (twice), (2tr + 3ch). Do NOT Fasten off.


Edging - Starting on right hand side of bib, with RS facing using main colour yarn, work

5dc evenly into row ends down first side of bib to corner, 3dc into corner, work 1dc into

each of cast on ch on bottom of bib, work 3dc into corner, work 35dc evenly into row

ends up the second side of bib, 3dc into corner, 1dc into next tr, (shoulder) 3dc into

corner, work 27dc evenly around neck edge, 3dc into next corner, 1dc into tr, 1dc into

base of first dc, ss to first dc. Turn. (141dc)


Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work one more row of 1dc into each dc to end, working 3dc into all corners, ss to first dc. Turn. (151dc). Fasten off.


Wind a small ball of contrast colour from main ball of contrast.


Next Row - Using yarn double thickness (using small ball with main ball) Join in contrast colour yarn, you will be working around 3 sides of bib only from now on, make 75ch

(these will be used for ties) using yarn single thickness from now on, so break off small ball of yarn, leaving shoulder un-worked, ss to the centre dc on the side of bib, 3ch, 1tr

into each dc down first side of bib to corner, 3tr into corner, 1tr into each dc along the

bottom of bib to next corner, 3tr into corner, 1tr into each dc up the second side of bib to

last corner, make 3ch, ss to centre dc on corner, (leave shoulder and neck un-worked)

using small ball with main ball again, making yarn double thickness, (you should have 111tr +3ch) make 75ch. Fasten off. Turn work around to WS facing.


Next Row - With main colour yarn and WS facing, rejoin to top of last 3ch worked, 1ch,

1dc into base of ch, 1dc into each tr around 3 sides of bib (work 3dc into corners) to last 3ch, 1dc into top of 3ch, turn leaving 75ch un-worked for ties.


Work one row in picot edge. Fasten off.

 

Finishing - Sew in and tie off any loose ends of yarn.


Burp Cloth - With 5.00mm hook and main colour make 41ch, change to 4.50mm hook,

work 1tr into 4th ch from hook, 1tr into each ch to end. Turn. (38tr + 3ch)


Rpt Pattern Rows 1, 2 & 1. Fasten off. Join in contrast colour and work Pattern Row 2 once. Fasten off. With main colour yarn work Pattern Rows 1, 2 & 1. Fasten off. Join in contrast and work Pattern Row 2 once. Fasten off. With main colour yarn rpt Pattern Rows 1 & 2 nine more times, work Pattern Row 1. Fasten off. Join in contrast colour and work Pattern Row 2 once. Fasten off. With main colour yarn work Pattern Rows 1, 2 & 1.

Fasten off. Join in contrast and work Pattern Row 2 once. Fasten off. With main colour

yarn rpt Pattern Rows 1 & 2 twice more, you should have 37 rows in all or work measures approx 11.5“ from beginning. Turn. DO NOT fasten off.


Edging - With 4.50mm hook, working down the side of the cloth into row ends, make 1ch, work 54dc evenly along to next corner, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each tr along bottom of

cloth to corner, 3dc into corner, working into row ends and up the second side of cloth,

work 53dc evenly along to next corner, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each tr to next corner, 1dc into base of first dc, ss to first dc. Turn. Work one more row in dc, working 3dc into corners, slip stitching to first dc on the end of each row. Turn. Fasten off.


Join in contrast colour and work one more row in tr stitch, working 3tr into corners, ss to top of 3ch. Turn. Fasten off. Rejoin main colour and work one more row in dc, working 3dc into corners, ss to first dc. Turn.


Work one row of picot edge. Fasten off.


Finishing - Sew and tie off all loose ends of Yarn.
