Materials

200 grams of King Cole big value baby DK in main colour

100 grams of King Cole big value baby DK in contrast colour

7oz of Worsted Weight yarn in Main Color

3.5oz of Worsted Weight Yarn in Contrast Color

5.00mm & 4.50mm crochet hooks

GAUGE - 9dc & 6 rows of dc measures approx 2” square (5cm x 5cm)

With 5.00mm hook and main color ch113, change to 4.50mm hook, 1dc in 4th ch from

hook, 1dc in each ch to end. Turn. Fasten off. (110dc + ch3)

Next Row - Join in contrast color, ch1, sl st in base of ch1, * 1dc in next dc, sl st in next

dc, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn. Fasten off. (55dc)

Next Row - Join in main color, ch3, 1dc in each stitch to end. Turn. Fasten off.

(110dc + ch3)

The last 2 rows form the pattern, rpt both rows a further 38 times each or until work

measures approx 27” from beginning. Turn.

Blanket Edging – Continue with main color yarn, ch1, 2sc in base of ch1, work 1sc in

each dc to ch3 to turn with, 3sc in top of ch3, working along the side of the blanket in row ends, work 118sc evenly down first side to corner, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each ch along bottom of blanket to corner, 3sc in corner, work 118sc evenly in row ends up second

Side of blanket to next corner, 1sc in base of ch1, sl st to first sc. Turn.

Starting with ch1, 2sc in base of ch1, work two more rows of 1sc in each sc all around all

four sides of blanket to end working 3sc in corners, sl st to first sc. Turn. Fasten off.

Next Row - Join in contrast color, ch3, 1dc in each sc to end working 3dc in corners,

sl st to top of ch3 at beginning of row. Turn. Fasten off.

Rejoin main color yarn, starting with ch1, 2sc in base of ch1, work one more row of 1sc in each dc all around all four sides of blanket to end working 3sc in corners, sl st to first sc. Turn.

Picot Edge. ch1, 2sc in base of ch1, ch2, 1sc in same stitch at base of ch1, * skip 1sc, (1sc, ch2, 1sc) in next sc, * rpt from * to * all around, 1sc in base of ch1, sl st to first sc.

Finishing - Sew in and tie off any loose ends of yarn from ends of rows etc.
