Finished size when closed approx:- 3” x 4.5”

Materials

12 grams of Stylecraft Special DK in Main Colour

5 grams of Double Knitting Yarn in Contrast Colour

5.50mm & 4.00mm Crochet Hook, 1 Small Button

TENSION - 5htr & 4 rows of htr measures approx 1 inch

With main colour yarn make a magic circle, using a 5.50mm hook make 17ch, change

to 4.00mm hook and work 2htr into the 3rd ch from hook, 1htr into each of next 14ch,

work 6htr into centre of magic circle, pull loose yarn to close, 1htr into each of next 14ch,

3htr into last ch, ss to top of 2ch on beginning of row. Turn. (39htr + 2ch)

Next Row - 2ch, 1htr into each htr to end, ss to top of 2ch on beginning of row. Turn.

Rpt last row until 10 rows have been worked in all or work measures approx 3 Inches from beginning. Turn. Fasten off.

Flap - Working into back loop only join in contrast colour yarn, work 1ch, 1dc into base

of 1ch, * miss 1dc, 2dc into next dc, * rpt from * to * 8 more times, 1dc into next dc, turn leaving 20htr un-worked.

Next Row - Working through both loops from now on, make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch

* miss 1dc, 2dc into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last dc, 1dc into last dc. Turn.

Rpt last row 4 more times. Turn.

Next Row - (Buttonhole Row) - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * miss 1dc, 2dc into next dc,

* rpt from * to * 6 more times, miss 1dc, 1dc into next dc, 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into each of last 2dc. Turn.

Next Row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into 2ch space, 1dc into next dc,

* miss 1dc, 2dc into next dc, * rpt from * to * to end, 1dc into last dc. Fasten off.

Flower Motif - With main colour yarn make magic circle, using 4.00mm hook make 1ch, work 12dc into circle, pull loose yarn to close circle, ss to first dc. Fasten off. DNT.

Next Row - Join in contrast colour yarn, make 1ch, 1dc, 3tr, 1dc into base of 1ch, * miss

1dc (1dc, 3tr, 1dc) into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last dc, miss last dc, ss to first dc.

Fasten off. (6 Petals)

Finishing - Sew in and tie off loosed ends of yarn, attach centre of flower to opposite

side of buttonhole and a main colour button to purse, fasten through buttonhole.
