Materials

25 grams of Stylecraft Special DK in Stone (1710) Colour 1

25 grams of Stylecraft Special DK in Sunshine (1114) Colour 2

4.00mm crochet hook

TENSION - N/A

With 4.00mm hook and colour 1 make 51ch, 5tr into 6th ch from hook, * miss 2ch, 1tr into next ch, miss 2ch, 5tr into next ch, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn. (8 groups)

Pattern Row - 3ch, * miss 2tr, 5tr into next tr, miss 2tr, 1tr into next tr, * rpt from * to * to end, work last tr into top of turning ch. Turn.

Rpt Pattern Row in colour sequence as follows:-

Once in colour 1. Fasten off. Turn.

Three times in colour 2. Fasten off. Turn.

Three times in colour 1. Fasten off. Turn.

Three times in colour 2. Fasten off. Turn.

Three times in colour 1. Turn.

Next Row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * make 2ch, miss 2tr, 1dc into next tr, make 2ch, miss 2tr, 1dc into next tr, * rpt from * to * to end. Fasten off. Turn.

Edging - Join in colour 2 with a ss, 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work * 2dc into next 2ch space, 1dc into dc, * rpt from * to * to last dc, work 3dc into last dc, work 30dc evenly into row ends down first side of mat to corner, 3dc into corner, rpt from * to * along cast on edge to corner, 3dc into corner, work 30dc evenly into row ends up second side of mat to corner, 1dc into base of 1ch, ss to first dc. Turn.

2nd Row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc around all four sides of mat, working 3dc into each corner, ss to first dc. Turn. Rpt last row once. Fasten off.

4th Row - Join in colour 1 with a ss, make 5ch, * miss 1dc, 1tr into next dc, make 2ch, * rpt from * to * around all four sides of mat working (1tr, 2ch, 1tr) into each corner. Turn.

5th Row - 1ch, (1dc, 3ch, 1dc) into each 2ch space to end. Fasten off.

Finishing - Weave any loose ends of yarn and trim.
