Sock Length:-
from foot to top approx:-  8 inches

Materials
1.75oz of Worsted Weight Yarn in Red
1.75oz of Worsted Weight Yarn in White
Oddments of Orange, Black & Jade
for Head and Face
4.00mm & 5.00mm Crochet Hooks

GAUGE - 10dc & 5 rows of dc measures approx 2 Inches

Boot - (Worked in 2 pieces)

Commence Foot - # Using 5.00mm hook and red color yarn, ch23, change to 4.00mm hook, work 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc in each of next 18ch, 7dc in last ch, working on opposite side of cast on chain, work 1dc in each of next 19ch, 1dc in base of ch3. Turn. (46dc + ch3).
 
Next Row  - ch3, 1dc in each of next 20dc, 2dc in each of next 5dc, 1dc in each of next 20dc, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. (51dc + ch3)
 
Next Row  - ch3, 1dc in each of next 21dc, 2dc in each of next 8dc, 1dc in each of next 21dc, 1dc in base of ch3. Turn. (59dc + ch3)
 
Next Row  - ch3, 1dc in each of next 22dc, 2dc in each of next 14dc, 1dc in each of next 22dc, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. (73dc + ch3)

Leg - ch3, 1dc in of next 19dc. Turn leaving remaining dc’s un-worked. Rpt last row 13
more times, making 14 rows in all from foot. Fasten off. Turn. #
 
Working in back loop of stitch only, join in white color yarn and using 4.00mm hook, ch1,
1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each dc to end. Turn. Starting with ch1 on each row, work 11
more rows in sc, turning at the end of each row. Fasten off.
 
Side Two of Boot - Rpt from # to #
 
Working in front loop of stitch only instead of back loop, using white color yarn and 4.00mm hook, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each dc to end. Turn. Starting with ch1 on each row, work 11 more rows in sc, turning at the end of each row. Fasten off.
 
Snowman Motif

Head - With orange color yarn and 4.00mm hook, ch4, sl st to first ch to form a ring, ch1, work 12sc in ring, sl st to first sc. Turn. Fasten off.
 
2nd Row - Join in white color yarn, ch1, work 2sc in each sc to end, sl st to first sc. Turn. (24sc)
 
3rd Row - ch1, 1sc in each sc to end, sl st to first sc. Turn. Rpt last row once. Fasten off.
 
Body - With white color yarn and 4.00mm hook, ch4, sl st to first ch to form a ring, ch1,
work 12sc in ring, sl st to first sc. Turn.
 
2nd Row - ch1, work 2sc in each sc to end, sl st to first sc. Turn. (24sc)
 
3rd Row - ch1, 1sc in each sc to end, sl st to first sc. Turn. Rpt last row once.
 
5th Row  -  ch1, work 2sc in each sc to end, sl st to first sc. Turn. (48sc)
 
6th Row  -  ch1, 1sc in each sc to end, sl st to first sc. Turn. Fasten off.
 
Hat - Using 4.00mm hook and black color yarn, ch7, 1sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1sc in each
ch to end. Turn. (6sc) Starting with ch1, work three more rows in sc on these stitches.
Fasten off.
 
Scarf  (made in 2 pieces)

Piece one to go around neck. With 4.00mm hook and contrast color yarn, ch8, 1sc in
2nd ch from hook, 1sc in each ch to end. Turn. (7sc) Starting with ch1, work one more in sc. Fasten off.

Piece two to hang down front of body. With 4.00mm hook and the same contrast color yarn, ch10, 1sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1sc in each ch to end. Turn. (9sc) Starting with ch1, work one more in sc. Fasten off.

Face - Use black color yarn to sew the snowman’s eyes and mouth, use orange color yarn
to sew nose.
 
Finishing - Assemble all pieces of Snowman together as in main picture above and sew
to one half of boot between foot and leg.

Fold top of boot (white sc) on to RS. With WS facing, over sew or sl st both sides of boot together, catching  in white folded top as you go. Sew in and tie off all loose ends of yarn.
 
Hanging Loop - Rejoin red color yarn with a sl st to about one inch down inside of seam, ch1, 1sc in same place, 2sc across seam. Turn. Work 23 more rows in sc on these stitches,
fold in half and sl st to first row of sc. Fasten off. Sew in and tie off ends.
