50 grams of Double Knitting Yarn in Red

50 grams of Double Knitting Yarn in White

Oddments of Orange, Black & Jade

for Head and Face

4.00mm & 5.00mm Crochet Hooks

TENSION - 10tr & 5 rows of tr measures approx 2 Inches

Boot - (Worked in 2 pieces)

Commence Foot - # Using 5.00mm hook and red colour yarn, make 23ch, change to 4.00mm hook, work 1tr into 4th ch from hook, 1tr into each of next 18ch, 7tr into last ch, working on opposite side of cast on chain, work 1tr into each of next 19ch, 1tr into base of 3ch. Turn. (46tr + 3ch).

Next Row - 3ch, 1tr into each of next 20tr, 2tr into each of next 5tr, 1tr into each of next

20tr, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn. (51tr + 3ch)

Next Row - 3ch, 1tr into each of next 21tr, 2tr into each of next 8tr, 1tr into each of next

21tr, 1tr into base of 3ch. Turn. (59tr + 3ch)

Next Row - 3ch, 1tr into each of next 22tr, 2tr into each of next 14tr, 1tr into each of next 22tr, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn. (73tr + 3ch)

Leg - 3ch, 1tr into of next 19tr. Turn leaving remaining tr’s un-worked. Rpt last row 13 more times, making 14 rows in all from foot. Fasten off. Turn. #

Working into back loop of stitch only, join in white colour yarn and using 4.00mm hook,

make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each tr to end. Turn. Starting with 1ch on each

row, work 11 more rows in dc, turning at the end of each row. Fasten off.

Side Two of Boot - Rpt from # to #

Working into front loop of stitch only instead of back loop, using white colour yarn and 4.00mm hook, make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each tr to end. Turn. Starting with 1ch on each row, work 11 more rows in dc, turning at the end of each row. Fasten off.

Snowman Motif

Head - With orange colour yarn and 4.00mm hook, make 4ch, ss to first ch to form a ring, 1ch, work 12dc into ring, ss to first dc. Turn. Fasten off.

2nd Row - Join in white colour yarn, make 1ch, work 2dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc. Turn. (24dc)

3rd Row - 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc. Turn. Rpt last row once. Fasten off.

Body - With white colour yarn and 4.00mm hook, make 4ch, ss to first ch to form a ring,

1ch, work 12dc into ring, ss to first dc. Turn.

2nd Row - 1ch, work 2dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc. Turn. (24dc)

3rd Row - 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc. Turn. Rpt last row once.

5th Row - 1ch, work 2dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc. Turn. (48dc)

6th Row - 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc. Turn. Fasten off.

Hat - Using 4.00mm hook and black colour yarn, make 7ch, 1dc into 2nd ch from hook, 1dc into each ch to end. Turn. (6dc) Starting with 1ch, work three more rows in dc on these stitches. Fasten off.

Scarf (made in 2 pieces)

Piece one to go around neck. With 4.00mm hook and contrast colour yarn, make 8ch,

1dc into 2nd ch from hook, 1dc into each ch to end. Turn. (7dc) Starting with 1ch, work

one more in dc. Fasten off.

Piece two to hang down front of body. With 4.00mm hook and the same contrast colour yarn, make 10ch, 1dc into 2nd ch from hook, 1dc into each ch to end. Turn. (9dc) Starting with 1ch, work one more in dc. Fasten off.

Face - Use black colour yarn to sew the snowman’s eyes and mouth, use orange colour

yarn to sew nose.

Finishing - Assemble all pieces of Snowman together as in main picture above and sew

to one half of boot between foot and leg.

Fold top of boot (white dc) on to RS. With WS facing, over sew or ss both sides of boot together, catching in white folded top as you go. Sew in and tie off all loose ends of yarn.

Hanging Loop - Rejoin red colour yarn with a ss to about one inch down inside of seam, 1ch, 1dc into same place, 2dc across seam. Turn. Work 23 more rows in dc on these stitches, fold in half and ss to first row of dc. Fasten off. Sew in and tie off ends.
