Materials

200 grams of King Cole big value baby DK in Main Colour

100 grams of King Cole big value baby DK in contrast colour

5.00mm & 4.50mm crochet hooks

TENSION - 9tr & 6 rows of tr measures approx 2” square (5cm x 5cm)

With 5.00mm hook and main colour make 113ch, change to 4.50mm hook, 1tr into 4th

ch from hook, 1tr into each ch to end. Turn. Fasten off. (110tr + 3ch)

Next Row - Join in contrast colour, 1ch, 1ss into base of 1ch, * 1tr into next tr, 1ss into

next tr, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn. Fasten off. (55tr).

Next Row - Join in main colour, 3ch, 1tr into each stitch to end. Turn. Fasten off.

(110tr + 3ch).

The last 2 rows form the pattern, rpt both rows a further 38 times each or until work measures approx 27” from beginning. Turn.

Blanket Edging – Continue with main colour yarn, 1ch, 2dc into base of 1ch, work 1dc

into each tr to 3ch to turn with, 3dc into top of 3ch, working along the side of the blanket

into row ends, work 118dc evenly down first side to corner, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each

ch along bottom of blanket to corner, 3dc into corner, work 118dc evenly into row ends up second side of blanket to next corner, 1dc into base of 1ch, ss to first dc. Turn.

Starting with 1ch, 2dc into base of 1ch, work two more rows of 1dc into each dc all around

all four sides of blanket to end working 3dc into corners, ss to first dc. Turn. Fasten off.

Next Row - Join in contrast colour, make 3ch, 1tr into each dc to end working 3tr into corners, ss to top of 3ch at beginning of row. Turn. Fasten off.

Rejoin main colour yarn, starting with 1ch, 2dc into base of 1ch, work one more row of 1dc into each tr all around all four sides of blanket to end working 3dc into corners, ss to first

dc. Turn.

Picot Edge. 1ch, 2dc into base of 1ch, 2ch, 1dc into same stitch at base of 1ch, * miss 1dc, (1dc, 2ch, 1dc) into next dc, * rpt from * to * all around, 1dc into base of 1ch, ss to

first dc.

Finishing - Sew in and tie off any loose ends of yarn from ends of rows etc.
