Leaving the last loop of each dc on hook,

yrh and draw through all loops

Materials

50 grams of King Cole big value baby DK in white (001) Main Colour

Oddment of King Cole big value baby DK in contrast either sky (005) or pink (006)

5.00mm & 4.00mm crochet hooks

buttons for decoration


TENSION - 10dc and 9 rows of dc measures approximately 2“ x 2“ (5cm x 5cm)

Cutie Booties - with 5.00mm hook make 25ch, ss to first ch to form a ring, change to 4.00mm hook, (RS) 1ch, 1dc into each ch to end, ss to first dc. Turn. (24dc)

 

Next Row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc. Turn. Rpt

last row four more times, making 6 rows in all. Fasten off. Turn.

 

Instep - Counting from back seam, miss first 8dc, rejoin yarn to 9th dc, 1ch, 1dc into

base of 1ch, 1dc into each of next 7dc. Turn. (8dc)

 

Next row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each of next 7dc. Turn. Rpt last row 5 more times, making 7 rows in all. Fasten off.


With RS facing and main colour yarn, rejoin yarn at back seam, working along ankle, work 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into next 7dc along ankle, working into row ends of Instep work 7dc evenly up first side of instep, 1dc into each of next 8dc along toe edge, working into row ends work 7dc evenly down second side of Instep, 1dc into each of 8dc along ankle, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. (38dc).

 

Next row - 1ch, 1dc into base if 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc on beginning

of row. Turn.

 

Next row - (dec row, see abbrev) 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, dec 1dc over next 2dc, 1dc

into each of the next 14dc, dec 1dc, over next 2dc, (twice), 1dc into next 14dc, dec 1dc, over next 2dc, 1dc into last dc, ss to first dc on beginning of row.  Turn. (34dc)

 

Next row - 1ch, 1dc into base 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.

 

Next row - (dec row) 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, dec 1dc, over next 2dc, 1dc into each

of the next 12dc, dec 1dc over next 2dc, (twice), 1dc into next 12dc, dec 1dc over next

2dc, 1dc into last dc, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. (30dc).

 

Next row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc on beginning

of row. Turn.


Next row - (dec row) 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, dec 1dc over next 2dc, 1dc into each

of the next 10dc, dec 1dc over next 2dc, (twice), 1dc into next 10dc, dec 1dc over next

2dc, 1dc into last dc, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten off. (26dc)


Next row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc on beginning

of row. Turn. With WS facing, close open gap, by ss or over sewing both sides together. Fasten off.


With WS facing, return and rejoin main colour yarn at back seam to cast on edge, 3ch miss 1ch * 1vst into next ch, miss 2ch, 1shell into next ch, miss 2ch, * rpt from * to * to last 2ch, miss 1ch, work 1 shell into next ch, ss to top of 3ch. Turn. (4 vst, 4 shells)


Next Row - 3ch, work 1vst into shell, 1 shell into vst to end, ss to top of 3ch. Fasten off.


Next Row - With contrast colour yarn make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * 1dc, 3tr, 1dc into next ch space, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to first dc. Fasten off.

 

Finishing - Sew in and tie off all loose ends of yarn. Turn through to RS, fold top of bootie down onto front.
