Materials

35 grams of Stylecraft Special DK Yarn in colour 1

Small amount of Stylecraft Special DK Yarn in colour 2

1.25oz of Worsted Weight #3 in color 1

Small amount of Worsted Weight #3 in color 2

4.00mm crochet hook, 1 button

GAUGE - 6dc and 2.5 rows measures approx 1 Inch

Worked in continuous rounds without turning to row 7.

Using color 1 make a magic circle, with 4.00mm hook, ch3, 11dc in ring, pull loose thread to close circle, join with sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. (11dc + ch3)

Row 2 - (Inc row) ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, 2dc in each of dc to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. (23dc + ch3)

Row 3 - (Inc row) ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, 1dc in next dc, * 2dc in next dc, 1dc in next dc, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. (35dc + ch3)

Row 4 - (Inc row) ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, 1dc in each of next 2dc, * 2dc in next dc, 1dc in each of next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. (47dc + ch3)

Row 5 - (Inc row) ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, 1dc in each of next 3dc, * 2dc in next dc, 1dc in each of next 3dc, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. (59dc + ch3)

Row 6 - (Inc row) ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, 1dc in each of next 4dc, * 2dc in next dc, 1dc in each of next 4dc, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. (71dc + ch3)

Row 7 - ch4, skip 1dc, 1dc in each of next 2dc, * ch1, skip 1dc, 1dc in each of next 2dc,* rpt from * to * to last 2dc, ch1, skip 1dc, 1dc in last dc, sl st to 3rd of ch4 on beginning of row. Turn. (24, 2dc blocks)

Row 8 - ch4, 1trc in space between ch3 and dc, sl st in ch1 space, * work 2trc in space between next 2dc, sl st in ch1 space, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to top of ch4 on beginning of row. Turn.

1st Pattern Row - ch4, skip sl st, 1dc in each of next 2trc, * ch1, skip

sl st, 1dc in each of next 2trc,* rpt from * to * to last sl st and trc, ch1, skip sl st, 1dc in last trc, sl st to 3rd of ch4 on beginning of row. Turn.

2nd Pattern Row - ch4, 1trc in space between ch3 and dc, sl st in ch1 space, * work 2trc in space between next 2dc, sl st in ch1 space, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to top of ch4 on beginning of row. Turn.

Rpt 1st and 2nd Pattern Rows twice, making 4 complete Patterns in all.

Next Row - ch3, 1dc in each sl st and trc to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Fasten off. (71dc + ch3)

Finishing - Sew in and tie off loose ends of yarn.

Flower Motif - Worked in rounds without turning. Using color 2 make a magic circle, using 4.00mm hook (RS) ch1, 10sc in circle, close circle by pulling loose thread, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. (10sc)

Next Row - ch1, 2sc in base of ch1, 2sc in each sc to end, sl st to first sc. (20sc)

Petals - ch3, (3dc, ch3, sl st) in base of ch3, * skip 1sc, work (sl st, ch3, 3dc, ch3, sl st) in next sc, * rpt from * to * to last sc, skip last sc, sl st to first sl st. Fasten off. (10 Petals)

Finishing - Sew in and tie off loose ends of yarn, attach button to centre of flower and sew to hat.
