Approx size:  9” wide x 10” long


Materials

50 grams of Patons 100% Cotton DK in Main Colour

50 grams of Patons 100% Cotton DK in 2 Contrast Colour


OR

1.75oz of 100% Cotton Worsted Weight Yarn in Main Color

1.75oz of 100% Cotton Worsted Weight Yarn in 2 Contrast Colors

4.00mm crochet hook


GAUGE - 4dc and 3 rows of dc’s measures approx 1” square

Dishcloth - With 4.00mm hook and main color ch42, 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc

in next ch, * ch2, skip 2ch’s, 1dc in each of next 2ch’s, rpt from * to * to last

ch, 1dc in last ch. Turn. (8, blocks of 2dc + 2, blocks of 3)


Next Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, ch2, skip 2dc, * working over the ch2 and in the unworked foundation chains on row below, work 1dc in each of the next two foundation

ch’s, (this will enclose the ch2 from row 1), ch2, skip 2dc, * rpt from * to * to ch3 to turn,

1sc in top ch3. Fasten off. Turn.


Pattern Row 1 - Join in first contrast color, ch3, * working over the ch2 and in the top

of the dc's from the row below, work 1dc in each of next two dc, ch2, skip 2dc, * rpt

from * to * to last ch2 space and sc, work 1dc in each of 2dc on row below, 1dc in sc.Turn.


Pattern Row 2 - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, ch2, skip next 2dc, * working over the next

ch2 and in the top of the dc's from two rows below, work 1dc in each of next two dc's,

ch2, skip next 2dc, * rpt from * to * ch3 to turn, 1sc in top of ch3. Fasten off. Turn.


Rpt Pattern Rows 1 & 2 in the following sequence:

once each in main color yarn.

once each in second contrast color yarn.


** once each in main color yarn.

once each in first contrast color.

once each in main color yarn.

once each in second contrast color yarn. **


Rpt from ** to ** once. Join in main color yarn, rpt Pattern Row 1 once. Turn


Edging - ch1, sl st in base of ch1, sl st in each of next 2dc, * working over the next ch2

and in the top of the dc's from row below, work 1hdc in each of next two dc's, sl st in each

of next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to ch3 to turn, sl st in top of ch3, working in row ends and down first side of cloth, work 37 sl st evenly along in row ends to next corner, sl st in corner, working along starting chains work 1sl st in each ch to corner, sl st in corner, working in row ends and up second side of cloth, work 37 sl st evenly along to next corner, sl st to first

sl st on beginning of row. Turn.


Next Row - (Working in front loop of sl st only) ch1, 2sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sl st

to end, working 3sc's in corners, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn. Work two

more rows in sc, working 3sc in corners, sl st to first sc on beginning of each row and

turning at the end of each row. Turn.


Next Row - ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, skip 1sc, * 3dc in next sc, skip 3dc, * rpt from

* to * to corner, 3dc in centre dc on corner, skip 1dc, rpt from * to * to next corner, 3dc in centre dc on corner, rpt from * to * to next corner, 3dc in next corner, rpt from * to * to next corner, work 1dc in base of ch3, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. DNT.


Next Row - ch1, 1dc in base of ch1, * ch3, 1dc in space between next two 3dc groups,

ch3, 1dc in centre dc on next 3dc group, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to first dc on

beginning of row. Fasten off.


Finishing - Sew in and tie off loose ends of yarn.
