Insert hook and draw up loop in each of next 2st, yrh and draw through all 3 loops.

Materials

100 grams of King Cole big value baby DK in pink (006) Main Colour

30 grams of King Cole big value baby DK in white (001) Contrast Colour

4.00mm crochet hook

5 decorative buttons

TENSION - 5dc and 5 rows measure approx 1 Inch using 4.00mm hook

With 4.00mm hook and contrast colour make 9ch, 1dc into 2nd ch from hook, 1dc into each ch to end. Turn. (8dc)

Next Row - Working into back loop of stitch only make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end Turn.

Rpt last row until 45 rows have been worked. Do Not Turn.

Start with 1ch, work 1dc into each row end along the side of your work to end. Turn. Fasten off. (45dc)

Join in main colour.

Pattern Row - 1ch, 2dc into base of 1ch, * miss 1st, 2dc into next st, * rpt from * to * to last 2st, miss 1st, 1dc into last st. Turn.

Rpt Pattern Row until 4 rows have been worked in all. Fasten off. Turn.

Bobble Row - Join in contrast colour, make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * MB (see abbrev) into next dc, 1dc into each of next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to last 2dc, MB into next dc, 1dc into last dc. Fasten off. Turn. (15 Bobbles)

Join in main colour and rpt Pattern Row until 30 rows have been worked from Bobble Row or back measures approx 8.5 Inches. Fasten off.

Right Front - # With 4.00mm hook and contrast colour make 9ch, 1dc into 2nd ch from hook, 1dc into each ch to end. Turn. (8dc)

Next Row - Working into back loop of stitch only make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end Turn.

Rpt last row until 21 rows have been worked. Do Not Turn.

Start with 1ch, work 1dc into each row end along the side of your work to end. Turn. Fasten off. (21dc)

Join in main colour.

Rpt Pattern Row from back until 4 rows have been worked. Fasten off. Turn.

Bobble Row - Join in contrast colour, make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * MB into next dc, 1dc into each of next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to last 2dc, MB into next dc, 1dc into last dc. Fasten off. Turn. (7 Bobbles)

Join in main colour and rpt Pattern Row from back until 17 rows have been worked from Bobble Row. # (21dc)

Shape Neck - 1ch, 2dc into base of 1ch, * miss 1dc, 2dc into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 4dc, miss 1dc, 1dc into next dc, turn leaving last 2dc un-worked. (19dc)

Dec Row 1 - 1ch, dec 1dc (see abbrev) over first 2dc, * 2dc into next dc, miss 1dc, * rpt from * to * to last 2dc, miss 1dc, 1dc into last dc. Turn. (18dc)

Dec Row 2 - 1ch, 2dc into base of 1ch, * miss 1dc, 2dc into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 3dc, miss 1dc, dec 1dc over last 2dc. Turn. (17dc)

Rpt last 2 dec rows until you have 9dc in all. Work Pattern Row from back until 30 rows have been worked from Bobble Row or front measures same as back. Fasten off.

Left Front - Rpt from # to # on right front. Fasten off. Turn.

Shape Neck - Miss 2dc, rejoin main colour yarn to next dc, work Pattern Row from back to end. Turn. (19dc)

Dec Row 1 - 1ch, 2dc into base of 1ch, * miss 1dc, 2dc into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 4dc, miss 1dc, 1dc into next dc, dec 1dc over last 2dc. Turn. (18dc)

Dec Row 2 - 1ch, dec 1dc over first 2dc, 1dc into next dc, * 2dc into next dc, miss 1dc, * rpt from * to * to last 2dc, miss 1dc, 1dc into last dc. Turn. (17dc)

Rpt last 2 rows until you have 9dc in all. Work Pattern Row from back until 30 rows have been worked from Bobble Row or front measures same as back. Fasten off.

Sleeves x 2 - With 4.00mm hook and contrast colour make 5ch, 1dc into 2nd ch from hook, 1dc into each ch to end. Turn. (4dc)

Next Row - Working into back loop of stitch only make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end Turn.

Rpt last row until 23 rows have been worked. Do Not Turn.

Start with 1ch, work 2dc into first row end, 1dc into each row end along the side of your work to last row end, 2dc into last row end. Turn. Fasten off. (25dc)

Join in main colour.

Work Pattern Row from back once. Turn.

Increase Row - 1ch, work 3dc into base of 1ch, continue with Pattern Row from back to last 2dc, miss 1dc, 2dc into last dc. (27dc)

Work Pattern Row from back and Increase Row once each. Turn. Fasten off. (29dc)

Bobble Row - Join in contrast colour, make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into next dc, * MB into next dc, 1dc into each of next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to end. Fasten off. Turn. (9 Bobbles)

Rejoin main colour and starting with Pattern Row from back continue increasing 1dc each end of every alternative row until you have 41dc in all. Rpt Pattern Row until 16 rows have been worked from Bobble Row or work measures approx 5 Inches from beginning. Fasten off. (41dc)

ss or over sew with needle and yarn shoulder seams together, fold sleeves in half and place centre to shoulder seams, ss or over sew sleeves into position, ss or over sew side and sleeve seams.

Button/Buttonhole Bands - With RS facing join contrast colour yarn with a ss to lower edge on right hand side of cardigan, work 30dc evenly into row ends up first front edge to corner, 3dc into corner, work 14dc up first side of neck, 27dc along back, 14dc down second side of neck, 3dc into corner, 30dc evenly into row ends down second front edge to end. Turn.

Buttonhole Row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 1dc into each dc up the front edge to corner, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each dc along first side of neck, back and second side of neck to next corner, 1dc into corner, * make 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into each of next 6dc, * rpt from * to * 3 more times, make 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into each dc to end. Fasten off. (5 Buttonholes made)

Finishing - Sew in and tie off any loose ends of yarn. Turn through to RS. Sew on buttons to correspond with buttonholes.
