Finished size approx: 27 Inches x 31 Inches

Materials

330 grams of King Cole big value baby DK in cream (046)

6.00mm, 5.00mm & 4.00mm crochet hooks

TENSION - 4dc and 5 rows of dc measures approx 1 Inch using 5.00mm hook

With 6.00mm hook make 103ch, change to 5.00mm, 1dc into 2nd ch from hook, 1dc into each ch to end. Turn. (102dc)

Next Row - Make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end. Turn.

Rpt last row until 102 rows have been worked in all from beginning. Turn.

Change to 4.00mm hook.

dc Border - Work 1ch, 2dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each of next 100dc, 3dc into last dc, work 1dc into each of next 100 row ends down first side of blanket, 3dc into corner, work

1dc into each of next 100ch along cast on edge, 3dc into last ch, work 1dc into each of

next 100 row ends up second side of blanket, 1dc into base of 1ch, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.

Starting with 1ch, 2dc into base of 1ch and slip stitching to first dc on the end of each row, work 4 more rows in dc. Turn. (you should have 108dc between each corner)

Shell Border - (Worked in rows without turning) (RS) 5ch, (2tr, 2ch, 2tr, 2ch, 1tr) into base

of 5ch, * miss 3dc, 1 shell into next ch, (see abbrev), * rpt from * to * 26 more times, miss 2dc, work (1tr, 2ch, 2tr, 2ch, 2tr, 2ch, 1tr) into next dc, rpt from * to * 27 more times, miss

2tr work (1tr, 2ch, 2tr, 2ch, 2tr, 2ch, 1tr) into next dc, rpt from * to * 27 more times, miss 2tr work (1tr, 2ch, 2tr, 2ch, 2tr, 2ch, 1tr) into next dc, rpt from * to * 27 more times, ss to 3rd of 5ch.

Row 2 - ss into first 2ch sp, 3ch, (1tr, 2ch, 2tr) into same space, 1 shell into each 2ch space to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row.

Row 3 - ss to first 2ch space, make 3ch, (1tr, 2ch, 2tr) into same space, * work (1tr, 2ch, 2tr, 2ch, 2tr, 2ch, 1tr) into next 2ch space, (corner) 1 shell into 2ch space of next 29 shells,

* rpt from * to * to 4th corner work (1tr, 2ch, 2tr, 2ch, 2tr, 2ch, 1tr) into corner 2ch space,

1 shell into 2ch space of next 28 shells, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row.

Row 4 - Rpt Row 2. Fasten off.

Finishing - Weave in ends, decorate with a crochet motif, I used my layered flower motif
