100 grams of Patons 100% Cotton DK in Main Colour

Small amount of Patons 100% Cotton DK in Contrast Colours (1 & 2)

3.5oz of 100% Light Worsted Cotton in Main Color

Small amounts of 100% Light Worsted Cotton in Contrast Colors (1 & 2)

5.00mm & 4.00mm crochet hooks

GAUGE - 10dc and 4.5 rows of dc’s measures approx. 2” square

Mat - Using 5.00mm hook and main color, ch21 loosely, (RS) 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc in each ch to end. Turn. (18dc + ch3). Change to 4.00mm hook.

Next Row - ch3, 1dc in each of next 2dc, * ch2, skip 1dc, 1dc in each of next 5dc,

* rpt from * to * to last 3dc and ch3 to turn, work ch2, skip 1dc, 1dc in each of next

2dc, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn.

Next Row - ch3, skip first 2dc, * 6dc in ch2 space, skip 2dc, 1dc in next dc, skip next

2dc, * rpt from * to * to last ch2 space, 2dc and ch3 to turn, 6dc in ch2 space, skip 2dc,

1dc in top of ch3. Turn. (3, 6dc groups)

Pattern Row 1- ch3, 1dc in each of next 2dc, * ch2, skip 2dc, 1dc in each of next 5dc,

* rpt from * to * to last 4dc and ch3 to turn, ch2, skip 2dc, 1dc in each of next 2dc, 1dc

in top of ch3. Turn. (2, 5dc blocks plus 2 half blocks at each end)

Pattern Row 2 - ch3, skip first 2dc, * 6dc in ch2 space, skip 2dc, 1dc in next dc, skip

next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to last ch2 space, 2dc and ch3 to turn, 6dc in ch2 space,

skip 2dc, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. (3, 6dc groups)

Pattern Rows 1 & 2 form the pattern for the mat, rpt both rows twice more.

Work Pattern Row 1 once. Turn.

Next Row - ch3, 1dc in each dc and 1dc in each ch2 space to end. (18dc + ch3)

Edging - Using 4.00mm hook, with RS facing starting from corner, working in row ends,

work down first side of mat, ch3, work 2dc in each row end to end. Fasten off. (22dc + ch3) Working in rows ends rpt the same on the second side. Fasten off. Turn.

Next row - Using contrast color (1) with WS facing, work ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each dc to ch3 to turn, 3sc in top of ch3, working along the side of ch3, work 1sc in ch3 space, 1sc in each of 19dc along cast on chain on the bottom of the mat, 1sc in side of dc, 3sc in top of dc, 1sc in each dc to ch3 to turn, 3sc in top of ch3, working along the side of ch3, work 1sc in ch3 space, 1sc in each of 19dc along top of mat, 1sc in side of dc, 1sc in base of first sc, sl st to first sc. Turn. Work 1 more row in sc turning at the end of row, working 3sc in corners and sl st to first sc. Fasten off.

Rejoin main color and work 1 more row of 1sc in each sc, turning at the end of row and working 3sc in corners, sl st to first sc. Fasten off.

Next Row - Join Contrast color (2), work ch2, (3dc, 1hdc) in base of ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc

in next sc, * skip 1sc (1hdc, 3dc, 1hdc) in next sc, skip 1sc, 1sc in next sc * rpt from

* to * around all four sides of mat, sl st to top of ch2 on beginning of row. Turn. Fasten off.

Next Row - Rejoin main color to first sc, work ch1, sl st in base of ch1, * 1sc in next

(hdc, 3dc and hdc), sl st in sc, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to first sl st on beginning of

row. Fasten off.

Toilet Tissue Cover - Using 5.00mm hook and main color, ch66 loosely, sl st to first to ch to form a ring, ch3, (RS) 1dc in each ch to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn. (65dc + ch3) Change to 4.00mm hook.

Next Row - ch3, 1dc in each of next 2dc, * ch2, skip 1dc, 1dc in each of next 5dc,

* rpt from * to * to last 3dc, work ch2, skip 1dc, 1dc in each of next 2dc, sl st to top of

ch3. Turn.

Next Row - ch3, skip first 2dc, * 6dc in ch2 space, skip 2dc, 1dc in next dc, skip next

2dc, * rpt from * to * to last 2dc, skip 2dc, sl st to top of ch3. Turn. (11, 6dc groups)

Pattern Row 1- ch3, 1dc in each of next 2dc, * ch2, skip 2dc, 1dc in each of next 5dc,

* rpt from * to * to last 4dc, ch2, skip 2dc, 1dc in each of next 2dc, sl st to top of ch3. Turn. (10, 5dc blocks plus one 4dc block with ch3)

Pattern Row 2 - ch3, skip first 2dc, * 6dc in ch2 space, skip 2dc, 1dc in next dc, skip

next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to last 2dc, skip 2dc, sl st to top of ch3. Turn. (11, 6dc groups)

Rpt both Pattern Rows four more times turning and sl st at the end of each row. Work Pattern Row 1 once more, sl st to top of ch3. Turn.

Next Row - ch3, 1dc in each dc and 1dc in each ch2 space to end, sl st to top of ch3.

Turn. Fasten off. (65dc + ch3)

Edging # #

Next row – With WS facing, using contrast color (1), work ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc

in each dc to end, sl st to first sc. (66sc) Rpt last row once more. Fasten off. Turn.

Rejoin main color and work 1 more row of 1sc in each sc, turning at the end of row and working 3sc in corners, sl st to first sc. Fasten off.

Next Row - Join contrast color (2), work ch2, (3dc, 1hdc) in base of ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc

in next sc, * skip 1sc, (1hdc, 3dc, 1hdc) in next sc, skip 1sc, 1sc in next sc * rpt from

* to * to end, sl st to top of ch2 on beginning of row. Turn. Fasten off. (17 Groups)

Next Row - Rejoin main color to first sc, work ch1, sl st in base of ch1, * 1sc in next

(hdc, 3dc and hdc), sl st in sc, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to first sl st on beginning of

row. Fasten off. # #

Rpt from # # to # # along cast on edge. Fasten off.

Chain Tie - With contrast color (1) and 5.00mm hook, ch100, sl st in 2nd ch from hook,

sl st in each ch to end. Fasten off.

Tie Motif x 2 - With main color and 4.00mm hook ch6, sl st to first ch to form a ring, ch1, work 11sc in ring, sl st to first sc. Turn. Fasten off.

Next Row – With contrast color (2) ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * skip 1sc, (1hdc, 3dc,1hdc)

in next sc, skip 1sc, 1sc in next sc, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to first sc. Fasten off.

Next Row - Rejoin main color, work ch1, sl st in base of ch1, * 1sc in next (hdc, 3dc and hdc), sl st in sc, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to first sl st on beginning of row. Fasten off.

Finishing - Sew in and tie off loose ends, thread chain tie through alternate dc’s at the

top of toilet tissue cover, gather, tie in a bow and attach a motif to each end of chain tie.
