300 grams of Patons 100% Cotton DK in Main Colour
50 grams of Patons 100% Cotton DK in Contrast Colours (1 & 2)
OR
10.5oz of 100% Light Worsted Cotton in Main Color
1.7oz of 100% Light Worsted Cotton in each Contrast Colors (1 & 2)
5.00mm & 4.00mm crochet hooks
GAUGE - 10dc and 4.5 rows of dc’s measures approx. 2” square

Using 5.00mm hook and main color, ch81 loosely, (RS) 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc
in
each ch to end. Turn. (78dc + ch3) Change to 4.00mm hook.
Next Row - ch3, 1dc in each of next 2dc, * ch2, skip 1dc, 1dc in each of next 5dc,

from * to * to last 3dc and ch3 to turn, work ch2, skip 1dc, 1dc in each of next
2dc, 1dc in
top of ch3. Turn. (12, 5dc blocks + 2 half blocks each end)
Next Row - ch3, skip first 2dc, * 6dc in ch2 space, skip 2dc, 1dc in next dc, skip

Edging - Using 4.00mm hook, with RS facing starting from corner, working in row ends,
work down first side of rug, ch3, work 2dc in each row end to end. Fasten off. (118dc
+ ch3) Working in rows ends rpt the same on the second side. Fasten off. Turn.
Next row - Using contrast color (1) with WS facing, work ch1, 1sc in base of ch1,
1sc
in each dc to ch3 to turn, 3sc in top of ch3, working along the side of ch3, work
1sc in
ch3 space, 1sc in each of 79dc along cast on chain on the bottom of the mat, 1sc
in side
of dc, 3sc in top of dc, 1sc in each dc to ch3 to turn, 3sc in top of ch3, working
along the side of ch3, work 1sc in ch3 space, 1sc in each of 79dc along top of mat,

dc, 1sc in base of first sc, sl st to first sc. Turn. Work 1 more row in sc turning

Rejoin main color and work 1 more row of 1sc in each sc, turning at the end of row

Next Row - Join Contrast color (2), work ch2, (3dc, 1hdc) in base of ch2, skip 1sc,

Finishing - Sew in and tie of all loose ends of cotton.
