Materials

25 grams of Stylecraft Special DK in Color 1

70 grams of Stylecraft Special DK Yarn in Color 2

25 grams of Stylecraft Special DK Yarn in Color 3


OR

1oz of Worsted Weight #3 in Color 1

2.5oz of Worsted Weight #3 in Color 2

1oz of Worsted Weight #3 in Color 3

4.00mm crochet hook

GAUGE - 4dc & 2.5 rows measures approx 1 inch

Start with Yoke Worked in one piece starting with yoke -

Using color 1, ch57, (RS) 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc in each ch to end. Turn. (54dc + ch3)

 

2nd Row - (Inc) ch3, 1dc in each of next 2dc, * 2dc in next dc, 1dc in each of the next 3dc, * rpt from * to * to end, working last dc in top of ch3. Fasten off. Turn. (67dc + ch3)


3rd Row - Join in color 2, ch3, 1dc in each dc to end, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn.

 

4th Row - (Inc) ch3, 1dc in next dc, * 2dc in next dc, 1dc in each of the next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to last 2dc and ch3, 2dc in next dc, 1dc in last dc and top of ch3. Fasten off. Turn. (89dc + ch3)

 

5th Row - Join in color 3 and work as 3rd row.

 

6th Row - (Inc) ch3, 1dc in next dc, * 2dc in next dc, 1dc in each of the next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to ch3, 1dc and top of ch3. Fasten off. (118dc + ch3)

 

7th Row - Join in color 1 and work as 3rd Row.

 

8th Row - (Inc) as 4th row. Fasten off. (157dc + ch3)

 

9th Row - Join in color 2 and work as 3rd Row.


10th Row - (Divide for Armholes) - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each of next 25dc, skip 25dc, (first armhole) 1sc in each of next 56dc, skip 25dc, (second armhole) 1sc in each of next 25dc, 1sc in top of ch3, sl st to first sc on beginning of row to make a round. (108sc)


Commence Skirt - ch3, (1dc, ch1, 2dc) in base of ch3, * skip 3sc, (2dc, ch1, 2dc) in next sc, * rpt from * to * to last 3sc, skip 3sc, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn. (27 Shells)


Next Row - ch1, 1sc in space below ch1, * ch2, skip 2dc, work (1sc, ch3, 1sc) in next ch1 space of shell, ch2, skip 2dc, work 1sc in space before next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to last shell, ch2, skip 2dc, work (1sc, ch3, 1sc) in next ch1 space of shell, ch2, skip 1dc and ch3, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn.


Pattern Row 1 - sl st over ch2 space and in first ch3 space, ch3, (1dc, ch1, 2dc) in same space, work (2dc, ch1, 2dc) in each ch3 space to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn.


Pattern Row 2 - ch1, 1sc in space below ch1, * ch2, skip 2dc, work (1sc, ch3, 1sc) in next ch1 space of shell, ch2, skip 2dc, work 1sc in space before next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to last shell, ch2, skip 2dc, work (1sc, ch3, 1sc) in next ch1 space of shell, ch2, skip 1dc and ch3, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn.


Rpt Pattern Rows 1 & 2 four more times. Fasten off. Turn.


Rpt Pattern Rows 1 & 2 once in color 3, once in color 2, once in color 1, once in color 2. Fasten off.


Edging (and button loop)  - With RS facing rejoin color 3 to base of right hand side on back edge, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 17 more sc evenly in row ends to neck edge, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each ch around neck, 3sc in corner, 18sc evenly in row ends down second back edge. Turn.


Next Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to corner, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each sc around neck edge to next corner, 1sc in corner, ch8, (button loop) work 1sc in corner, 1sc in each sc down second back edge. Fasten off.


Finishing - Weave in all loose ends, attach button to opposite side to correspond with button loop. Decorate with ribbon and bows if you wish.
